Those with engine/mechanic knowledge…

Transit custom 2.2 63 plate, making ticking/tapping noise most noticeable at idle. Doesn’t matter if engine cold or warm.

Dual mass flywheel and clutch been replaced. Issue still persists.

Always kept serviced, oil level fine. Oil pressure fine (no warnings)

114,000 miles, so not ridiculously high for a diesel.

Have no idea where the noise is coming from, though it sounds like valvetrain to me? (Not sure though)

Much less noticeable when driving, but still there to an extent…

If it increases with engine speed then it’s probably to do with the cam shaft could be a partially blocked oil way starving a tappet of oil of a worn cam shaft  etc sometimes flushing the engine oil with an anti sludge agent will remove dirt build up re fill with new oil might sort it out , if not further diagnostics from a ford main dealer might be needed .

Could be anything as serious as valves or con rod to something innocent like manifold leak

changing the oil wouldnt hurt to see if it goes away..

just take to garage before it blows up  ;D
