Anyone use one for all there maintenance cleans . We need new brushes . We have used ultimates for a few years now , and I think they are great brushes . But we are wanting to speed up the cill cleaning , we seem to be spending nearly as long on a cill as the glass . But I have never owned a cill brush . So are they as good on the glass , ? Get in the corners ? Faster in the cills ? Cheers Barry .

We are not ones for swapping brushes during the day . All our work is monthly maunteanace cleans . So is it a case of leave em all day and crack in . Thanks for the reply Nigel .

They won’t last as long as other brushes 3-4x it’s weight but the pay off is less strain and more money earned so worth paying for 2 if they last as long as 1 heavier brush,fatal using an extreme and thinking you’ll go back to heavy brushes again they will sit redundant in the van give em to your local brick 🧱  layer.

Personally, I don't like the Xtreme sill brushes. The two skinny rows of bristles that make up the sill part are not particularly effective IMO but more of a hindrance. They obscure the view of the lower part of the normal brush, making it feel odd and unnatural to use. Although it's lighter than the Ultimate (which is really nice) the coverage is more compromised. The bristle clumps are really small and there are Two over exaggerated gaps in the middle rows to allow for the large jet capsule holes- so what you gain in weight, you may lose in reliable coverage. Also there's very little, if any side splay- made even worse by the over extended stock so don't expect to get into lower sash corners with ease.
I'm disappointed with the Xtreme brushes, I feel they could easily be so much better. I suppose you just have to weigh up the implications mentioned above and try one.👍

I am a stickler for brushes I always was and I thought the same when first using them how can this clean a sill etc,the Extreme sill brushes imo are adequate to clean any window with a sill be it deep or shallow.
I would say to someone use it for a few days and then see where you are I would never go back to using heavier brushes,I sold almost 20 heavier old style brushes ie Xline 4 jet brush that comes with the Ova pole and so on they are just to heavy and overkill for what you need to clean a window.

Someone that employs a fair few won’t go for these brushes as the longevity is not as good as the heavier brushes,for feeling like you’ve got nothing at the end of the pole you won’t come close to an Extreme brush it’s cleaning with a snooker cue stuff at height.

Thanks for those in depth replies .instead of ordering 6 , like I normally would . I will get just one . All 3 of us can have  a couple of days with it . I’m used to the heavier brushes but my right shoulder and arm are giving me some grief. I don’t want my lads ending up like me so weight wise I am thinking of them .

The supreme dupont is a bit of a compromise (my current brush of choice). The extra splay makes it easier to clean sills. It is a similar weight to the ultimate though.

Have you tried using a swivel on your brush? I found that makes the biggest improvement to sill cleaning, and you can use any brush.

I’m sure a swivel helps you I have used one many moons ago but again twisting your wrist with a swivel adds more strain,regardless of having a swivel you still having to go up and down the window if they are dirty.
If you were to go side to side to clean just using a swivel that’s a huge strain on the wrist worse than using a pole normally especially if it’s not the very lightest pole.

My default set up for day-to-day work is the slx 25 with long neck swivel and the extreme flocked sill brush. The slx will take the daily clean punishment from block paving sand, soil etc, and the extreme reduces the fatigue you get from heavier brushes.
True, the bristles may struggle to get in to all crevices around sash windows and the like but the swivel allows me to move a few steps to the side and rotate the brush to hit the hard-to-reach spots. Also the sill bristles do a good job of the final swipe to remove the crud you've rinsed off the glass. I have other brushes, but they're just sat at home in case I think of a reason to use them again. Two years on, I'm still waiting for that reason to crop up.

the supreme brushes are the best all arounder IMO.....for both glass,sills and getting into the corners....the xtreme sill brushes are ok but they dont get into corners very well (to flick out spiders nests,etc).....great for sills though....

Horses for courses. The extreme sill only has one redeeming quality, obviously its weight, so default choice for bigger poles but its so poor on quality, there's nothing to it, it's been stripped right back and feels like it when in use. It actually makes its predecessor, the black and white gardiners sill look like a quality brush which I thought I'd never say. Weight is important but not at the expense of quality, its a brush too far for maintenance cleans.

The vast majority of the time we are all only  maintaining relatively clean windows a thick heavy brush is just not needed,it’s a confidence thing you think that can’t be clean I was like it myself they clean as well as any other brick like brush I’ll do a first clean with one and know it’ll be spot on.

The extreme sill doesn’t last long enough. I hate using a brush out of shape . The ultimate sill is too cumbersome but has its uses. There’s got to be something in the middle .... oh yeah there is but it’s getting discontinued

I’ve been using the extreme cill flocked and really like it, seems to have more or bigger groups of bristles compared to the non flocked and feels like it has more cleaning g power too, the only down side is they are not great at getting spiders nest from the corners of windows.

You don’t need anything more for cleaning a window with it’s a confidence thing looking at them you can’t believe they do as good a job but they do.

Nothing to do with confidence, it's reality. Try getting a spiders nest out of the corner of a lower sash window- it ain't happening with or without confidence. Imaging trying to dig a hole in the ground with a spade made from cotton wool,  that's the flocked Xtreme.
