I know these type of topics create tensions but as a rough guide say you had to spray a standard semi d Roof with biocide from the ground that has moderate moss growth at custies request what would you charge?  So no clearing moss etc just spray and walk away

650+ vat

Although I wouldn’t ever just spray a mossy roof

Generally id be the same you reckon its a waste of time if not clearing moss even with biocode at 25/1

I do - een virtually neat esp with moss you can kill the top layer but underneath is still alive you end up with a horrid patchwork of moss/cleaned areas plus all the dead stuff will now roll into the gutter over the next few weeks

I much prefer to clean off moss leaving a clean roof from the time we leave site

biocide is great for algae and lichen covered roofs

I look at it this way - people see to treating the roof - the biocide doesn't work that well - customer tells people you treated the roof - your name is mud because people see the result is bad
I ised to get this when we either cleaned front only or uppers only - neighbours would ring and tell us the guys did a rubbish job snd didn't clean x,y,or z - now we only clean full properties

I certainly wouldn’t consider just biociding a roof contaminated with moss. Imagine the way that’s going to look after. What a mess.

I normally scrape moss off roofs before applying biocode or hypo but I generally only do bungalows and Id only do one or 2 a year . There isnt a load of moss on roofs in question so i think there just trying to rein it in before it gets a lot worse. 2 storey roof is obviously a lot more awkward than a bungalow so the thinking  was spray and let moss fall off in time . I hypoed my own with no scraping and tbh it came up excellent on it .
