Here's how I solved the problem of them pulling out.

such a shame that you now have to screw metal into a brush to get it reliable... ever since the 'improvements'

I don't like the gardeners sill brushes they all have those silly sticky out side bristles

And they do lol... they last for years though looking at the chart on gardiners I hope I don’t have to change it after 4 months as stated! The weight of gardiners is unrivalled tho I was using 330g xline and switched to gardiners 95grams unbelievable difference even at ground level .

And yes I have scratched windows with x line rinse bar when pressing on too hard .

Gardiners seem like they’ve spent more time designing and testing / trialling everything out more and everything is better made IMO

The xline 26 cm brushes are a similar weight and size to Gardiner sl range (sill brush is obviously heavier).

It’s all about the weight for me save those elbows and wrists the brush is huge when it comes to these injuries.

I have 2 xline brushes one is 200 odd grams the other is 300 odd grams. Dunno what Sl range is but I have gardiners lightest 26cm Xtreme brush 95 grams hypertec hybrid? Takes same amount of scrubs to clean so no brainer

If you use cold water the wide DuPont Extreme is a very good brush it melts through the dirtiest windows,I use it on very cold mornings when I don’t want any thermal shock  at times before the heater goes on a bit later in the morning.
Don’t be fooled by the lack of bristles it cleans as well as any brush, imo the DuPont or Tucker type bristle is easily the best bristle to put in any stock.

The x line brushes last forever, ive still got one on my spare pole, must have had it 4 years and got it second hand to start with.

But i wouldnt use anything other than an extreme brush now, whats the point when you are just adding weight.

Is use the extreme stiff with cold water because it lasts much longer than the medium vesion.

That’s all I use, a carbon gooseneck neck and gardiner xtreme poles and brushes.

I’ve had all the other brushes and never find I need a sill brush and such like.

Bugger.

Sounds like I’ll stick with Gardiners and their cr#p improved fan jets  :'(

At least until there’s a similar brush without them
