If you do a lot of houses with tight alleyways like Deggee you know like Coronation street type properties the Ova would be good as it doesn’t spin.

As far as I'm aware ova and boss poles are the same only different shape.  So they use same clamps.  I had a boss pole for 2 days and sold it as couldn't work with the clamps . They look good but not adjustable enough. 
They sections are always over tighten as the clamps don't alow  them to run smoothly when closing and opening . That's comparing with clx poles which I've been using over the last 10 years or so .
So lesson learned and back to what I know ,gardiner poles . I'm not sure other competitors can produce better clamps at the moment .

The Ova is a very well made pole I have the Hi Mod 22ft I use it as a spare pole,the Ova is the AMG line the Gardiner is the AMG.

Blindfolded out the box side by side it’s obvious but the Ova has its uses but for me it’s only on a wash down on PVC etc when working below waist as it doesn’t spin,don’t think when you buy an Ova it will be on the same level as the Extreme coz it won’t be.
We are talking Ova Hi Mod v Extreme here not the standard SLX carbon again the Extreme and the SLX are night and day.

You need to be aware when you buy this pole that unless you are turning over 250k + the pole won’t extend as the clamps won’t release,it’s a high end big earner with cash at bank pole remember that 😉.

Ive just finished getting rid of all the Gardiner SLX stuff, SLX is an excellent pole but the clamps and wear let it down compared to the ova-8

The thing I’ve found is that the Gardiner products are like the old faithful I always end up trying other bits but going back in the  end,other brushes look good but they are too heavy other poles look good but again too heavy.
I think it’s the same with most tools they need to be designed by people that have done the job day in day out.

Always been a gardiner man art from a dabble with facelift phantom clamps which I still feel are better than gardiner clamps personally but I’d love to try the ova8 with its unique shape however the extra weight and clamps put me right off.
Weight is the single biggest thing for me with a pole, yes extreme poles generally last 10-11 months before I start snapping sections but I’ll take that for the sake of my knackered old bones

All this snapping business has never been an issue with me in years the first couple of batches that were sold may have been not as strong and I did snap a section but that was down to me trying to close windows with it,I treat all my equipment with respect especially poles and simply don’t have these issues I can only think it’s down to the operators.
Any pole will weaken quicker if constantly clamp on the same part of the pole the red bands are there for a reason but I normally clamp before this section,you need to vary where you clamp they will last longer.

Definately not operator error with one of my xtreme poles, it had just worn thin on one side for some reason 10 months old pole using it snapped, religiously stripped it every few weeks washed it retaped and dry ptf sprayed it, now I just expect around 12 months then I’ll get a new pole.
£700 for a pole that lasts around that time and makes the money it does for us I can’t be bothered stripping it too much now as long as I don’t hear it getting gritty, only thing I can think of with others not snapping sections is they don’t do as much work as some of us so the poles don’t get nailed as much as none of us know how much work each of us do!

Exactly what I said above pal, nail a pole for 12 months get a new one!
Seen too many posts of lads spraying poles with lacquer etc, just bang a new one in the van and go again

I do spray mine but it also makes it better to use it slides easier saving a few quid on a pole is pointless when you think it is your main tool,the hose reel is the same an electric reel saves stress on the body so just get one it’s false economy.

Just go for extreme. My 25 I've had for ten years. I've replaced the top 2 sections twice but the bottom 2 are still the originals.  I think Ive cleaned the pole once in ten years. Prefer to just run the hose through my fingers when I'm collecting it all back up into the van. Gets all the bits off easy.
