glazing sticker removal tips
« on: March 04, 2021, 05:40:07 pm »
Hey up chaps. The window cleaners enemy that is window installers v often leave those bloody stickers on the windows. Or like today, where they took the sticker off, but all the glue stayed on. What's your removal tips?
Usually I just use a scraper blade whilst keeping a wfp stream running over it. That works ok but it can take a lot of scraping and can be hard to tell you've got it all off until the window dries.
Any chemical or anything to make it easier? I know there seems to be a variety of glues used for these stickers.

Bronze wool removes anything unless it’s huge bits of concrete.

Haha, been in the game a while but usually avoid deep cleans like the plague and wondered if there were any new tips out there. I've been known in the past to tell them to complain to the fitters. I can't get my head around why they think it's acceptable to leave the stickers on.
Cheers chaps

I use a radial rocker brush with a magic erasure pad in the centre of the brush, gets it off.

I’m reluctant to use any scraper these days unless it’s for the first layer of sellotape if they are used properly they should only be used for a very short time as they go blunt,I’ve seen people using these things when they’ve rusted the sound of a donkey comes to mind.
