4th and 5th grants from the government today right up to September !!

Not for us.
We've had a good Covid unlike some other occupations.
Managed to work through.
Lost a few jobs but overall we've been fine.
Took the first one because no one knew how serious it would be.
Got a replacement van out if it.
Should be able to write down the whole value, keep tax liability pretty much as it was.

5th grant only available for those that have taken a 30%+ hit on turnover.

Good news is that the newly self employed can claim the grants, I know there was a few on here who fell into that bracket, myself included.

Other good news is that the much awaited corporation tax increase only applies to companies that show £50k profit. There won’t be many on here that applies to, Apart from NWH of course.

For the newly self employed like my son, he was effected April- July, can he claim for the first grant period

You’ll have to check the details. It sounded like it was for any newly self employed that filed the 20/21 tax return, grants 4 and 5 could be claimed, grant 5 being only for those with profits hit by 30% or more.

No. The window for claims was closed months ago.
