Peugeot Partner tank size?
« on: January 27, 2021, 04:50:58 pm »
Hi Guys, I am getting a peugeot  partner as a temporary van as my Vivaro has died. Does anyone have one or know what size tank would be a good fit?  Thanks

I’ve had a 350 ltr upright, easily carries. I’ve also had the facelift 425 ltr flat tank, reel on top. Of course it depends on what the payload is.

One way I check for payload is using compare the market van insurance.

Thanks for the replies. Is there room for a hose reel with the 500 flat?

Personally I would always opt for an upright tank. It has a smaller footprint and not as prone to sucking in air like a flat tank does when the water level is low.

Years back one of the local lads had 2 Vauxhall Combo vans. He had a 400 liter flat in one and a 400 upright in the other. We live in an hilly area and the flat tank was a real issue for him. He had to keep parking in such a way that the outlet of the tank was at it lowest point.
Success is 1% inspiration, 98% perspiration and 2% attention to detail!

The older I get, the better I was ;)

If you look online at the tank dimensions you are looking to buy you can use the ancient art of using a tape measure to determine if it will fit into your vehicle.

And yes get an upright tank, you cant get the last 100l out of a flat tank unless you are parked correctly and they will air lock quicker than an upright as water sloshes about below the outlet level.

You wouldn't get a 500 upright in a partner, I've never had issues with a flat, when tank almost empty chuck a couple of 25 litre barrels in or go home simples

500 upright definitely fits.

They are the longer partners. That said there is no load capacity difference between the longer and the shorter ones both come in 850kg I think. Certainly shows there is a 500 lts upright tank that fits.

I've a flat tank in a Berlingo. Yes the concerns people make re air locks and usable volume of water are valid. BUT when you know what you are working with and your round these problems can be overcome. You don't need a massive hill just an incline to get the most water out your tank and a bit of for thought when water level getting low. I fitted an inline non return valve on the hose supplying from tank outlet to pump box. It's pretty much solved the air lock issue for me and even when low I doubt I'm left with 100 liters of unused water, more like half that and that's good enough for me.

Ha ha I take it back then there's not loads of room with flat so I assumed there would be no chance with upright obviously there is
