Public freedom is my priority, not public health.
These lockdowns are insane. The fact we are so easily excepting them is beyond me.
If people want to isolate, go ahead, but those that want an open, free country should have that right.
And don’t go saying ‘your a Covid denier’ because I’m not. My wife is a manger at our local nhs hospital. I know how bad it is, I also know how skewed the death figures are.
There will be a disastrous ‘new world order’ following this. It’s very concerning seeing what the rich boys at Davos are chatting about. They are using this Covid hysteria to usher in more control.
We cannot keep locking down every time there is a spike. It is literally insane. We have to learn to live with it.
Lockdowns cause so much excess death, mental health issues, job losses, stress, missed education, obscene economic debt, social issues and more. They are not the answer, we have to learn to live with it.
What are we going to do, lockdown everytime there is a need strain? It’s mental.
Thems my sentiments, and the same for many people I know.
If you love life, you love freedom, not control.
Can there be Public freedom without public health?
If people feel afraid of dying and would like it to be safe for them to move around freely, then they are not free if end lockdown
What you could be saying there is 'I believe in my public freedom'
If we got rid off speed limits, you could think it would make people more free, but not really, it would result in less freedom for those who want to feel safer the roads, but more freedom for people who like to speed.
There's a balance to be struck, that's how society works
Of course there can be public freedom without public health, that’s how it’s been for ever.
This is a new way of managing pandemics, we’ve never had lockdowns like this before.
I don’t believe even if we had the staff and doubled the icu bed capacity we’d be out of lockdown. I think this over reaction and new obsession with death has created a mass hysteria which has induced lockdowns.
We need more hospitals, more staff, to cope with this and future pandemics to keep the country open.
That said, it should still be the right of every citizen to choose whether they isolate or not. Being under house arrest is wrong.
Covid is dangerous, yes, but it’s also almost non existent in young people and not a concern for people under 60 by in large.
We should put the money into the health service rather than furlough etc. All we are doing is destroying the economy, destroying mental health, destroying education, destroying businesses, destroying social lives, the list goes on.
We have to except thah death happens. People die, it’s very sad, but we cannot keep running the whole country because of an endemic virus.
The danger is this ‘new normal’ isn’t going away fast, and the amazing thing is, people have actually bought into it and actaully think the government control is good. That’s insane.
Freedom over Health. And again, I have a wife who is a manager at the Colchester general hospital, so that absolutely makes me entitled to this opinion. Especially as I know exactly how bad things are.
