If you are OK with electrics then you can use a relay triggered by float switch to shutoff pump.

You can get a control unit off eBay for £20

Hi I’ve got a water genie pump I got a float switch off Amazon and connected it to mains and as soon as my water gets to my level it shuts off 8.95 great piece of kit

I'm guessing that switch also needs to be mounted vertically on the pump outlet like the others do.
Could have to find some way of mounting the pump to accommodate this.

The coil is a 12v DC one so 12v  float switch can control relay and the motor contacts are rated at 10A 240vAC.
Please only do this if you are confident in working safely with 240vAC.
