Sill Brush Vs Universal Sill Brush
« on: December 15, 2020, 12:40:47 pm »
I want to try the Universal sill brush medium soft, how does it compare in scrubbing power to the original sill brush medium mixed?

already tried the extreme sill, thoroughly unimpressed overall.

Unless I want a flocked brush I would only buy a  dupont brush now. Neither of those brushes come with dupont bristles, closest would be the dupont supreme, which is my main brush now. Does an OK job on sills.

Extreme sill 1 of the best brushes I’ve ever used if not the best.

They are totally different brushes.
The universal is perfect for gutters/facias but I don’t think it feels precise enough or light enough  for regular windows.
I’m gutted that they are stopping the sill brush as I find the extreme sill falls apart at the edges quite quickly and I can’t stand those brush bumpers as no matter how you glue them they come off
Does anybody know if the supreme is any good for sills?

The best brush for f/s/g is a standard extreme brush IMO....

1.its the lightest

2.you can get up behind the gutter brackets better...

The xtreme sill is ok for regular windows...I dont use the brush bumpers
price higher/work harder!

With the extreme sill you don’t need to scrub like billyo you just need to lightly go over regular stuff ok don’t last the longest but I would still choose them over other brushes.

Tried the extreme sill brush, I liked the idea of the bumpers but they wore out too quickly. It was ok for a lot of my regular work, but not enough deep scrubbing power for some jobs.
I’ve ordered the universal to try out, I hope it’s a suitable replacement.

Extreme stiff is my favourite but it never seems to be in stock anymore so have to settle for the normal extreme that doesnt last 3 months.

Extreme sill is a great brush but too heavy.

Extreme flocked cill brush. My favourite in over thirteen years of cleaning. Stiff version for gutters (with fan capsules) but it’s too stiff for the glass.

on a 30ft slx its a default choice for me  as its light as a feather which negates its failings as it only gets used for 5% of my work, but its been stripped of any quality to become that light  (imo) short, sparce bristles and the pre drilled jet holes are too far apart for my liking, way too flimsy for all day use, feels like  the barrel stocks going to be rubbing on the glass if you apply any pressure.  Maybe it performs better with hot water. Like you say, each to his own.

I use it with hot water obviously a lot of side to side cleaning technique kills  any brush especially with hot water and more so with extreme brushes.
Once you’ve got used to the lightness of these extreme brushes anything else feels heavy.

Been using the universal brush for 2 weeks now. Absolutely love it!
It’s been used on everything, 1st cleans, regulars, upvc, ali, wooden etc and no problems at all.
A brief adjustment to technique when there’s brick reveals to the windows to stop the side bristles rubbing. But they are great bumpers for protecting upvc reveals and cills.
In my opinion having the extra bristles when compared to the extremes outweighs the lightness by making it easier to scrub the dirt away. Think it will be my go to brush for now.
