I dont think it is too  dear, seems the equipment and van is worth £11000 so that makes the business £12000

So he is asking 3 times monthly turnover for the business

Assuming the van and equipment are valued about right and the work is of reasonable quality (should be if it grosses £48,000 p.a.) then the price is probably a fair one.  The problem I would have is that I would be reluctant to bid without seeing what the work was like.  It's not the sort of thing you can bid on until you've looked into things much more closely and met the seller.

if you want it just bid. If it aint what it seems you don't pay and walk away. But if it's all he says you've done okay for yourself, that is if you have the money in the first place!!
Come and talk dirty to us!!!

surely if your interested and he was honestly selling then he'd talk with you about buying it with out bidding on it,

although 3 times the yearly profit seems about right to me

Hello,

I severely doubt whether this guy is bothered about getting a bid to be fair.

ebay is great for placing an advert nationwide for a couple of quid / 10 days.

All he probably wants is someone interested.

Wish i had £ 23,000 spare !   ;)

In a non auction sale that's all very well.  The trouble is that you can get some seriously bad feedback for doing that on ebay which can hinder any future deals you make on there.  I may have misunderstood the following but I read somewhere that a bid on ebay could leave you open to legal action too if the deal is dishonoured.  As a bare minimum, you could expect to reimburse the seller his fee for placing the business on the site.  So any bidders would need to pay a personal visit to inspect the vehicle, system, and check out the work on offer before bidding.  In fact, if all seems well, it would probably be possible to do a good enough deal for the items to be withdrawn from the auction.

I would definately want to see accounts, p/l, client history before even considering giving him £23k.

If it is as it seems, a viable business and run professionally he will have all this information and should be able to show you it prior to exchanging monies etc....

Best wishes,

I know him personally. He built my system 18 months ago. He had a couple of guys doing his work while he built systems. Apart from the fact hes difficult to get hold of cos hes so busy hes a guinine bloke(French). You wont have have any problems whoever buys it. Sounds a fair price, I know they were earning well of it and of it has the added bonus of being all WFP.

I spoke to this bloke quite a while back about building me a system, he seems very honest and I did look at a van mount he had built - it was very good.

Might be something to do with the fact he wants £23,000. How many lads do you know that have that kind of money knocking around.

Yes alot money -  but £50,000 a year aint bad.

It would be ideal for someone with a bit of redundancy money or something like that.

If I was going to buy and didn't have the money I would offer instalments in that way you would be safeguarded.

Also for that kind of investment I would get a soliciter involved and have a proper legal contract drawn up.
