I am 140 a month down x 8 pubs
What would you do keep em
Dump em
Or just suck it up as the new normal

Do them and claim the grant until you can replace them.
That's what the grant is for  .

I would do them on the understanding that when all this covid blows over and they are back to normal they go back up to £100

I would replace them with domestic work. Sod commercial, youve just lost a grand a month that would never happen that fast with domestic.

Simple, would you quote £30 for a clean on the pubs? If yes stick with it, if no then IF you can find work that pays as well dump them. Once they get used to paying £60 a month why would they go back to £200 a month???
Maybe offer to do then once a month for £60 till say Easter then back to normal prices as a goodwill gesture.

Secondly I think it looks bad on your part being able to drop the price significantly like that - if I were the customer I would think your original price was a pee take..

Offer to change the frequency so onece a month for £120 or offer to do just the outs for £60.00 a fortnight 40% drop per clean is to much for any one.

I priced a job for sharps bedrooms they wanted an in and out monthly price.I gave them a price which was more than their budget so I offered just the outs to suit there budget and they accepted.

You get what you pay for.

Very true that how can you justify doing them for that then putting them back up to the original,if you had plenty of work in their eyes you wouldn’t continue to clean them for the 60.

Personally I’d carry on at the new lower price if you could get in writing that the price goes back up in spring.

It’s a risk obviously but the hospitality industry is hurting at the moment, having clean windows isn’t top of their worries right now.

I’ve got a few pubs/restaurants that have been on hold for a while now. A couple of them I’ve cleaned free of charge as I know they are really struggling and I like the owners

I run a business not a charity blah blah blah but for a couple of hours of my time it’s worth it for future karma.

personally i wouldnt of took the work on in the first place....i like my eggs in lots of different,smaller baskets......but i dont see what you can do really apart from suck it up.......its a lot of money to lose out on every month...only you can decide......you can guarantee they will be "grudge" cleans from now on!not a nice place to be!

Also, a lot would depend on who owns the pubs.

If they are part of a large chain and listed on the stock market etc then I’d be less likely to do them any favours than if they are privately owned freehouses.

I feel for the commercial boys to an extent someone’s gonna clean them but imo you shouldn’t put all your eggs in 1 basket as Daz says,I learnt this years ago.

the truth is it SIMPLY DOESNT HAPPEN IF YOUR A DOMESTIC WINDOW CLEANER.......its never happened to me in 27 years of window cleaning...it only happens to the mainly commercial boys.....i dictate the price and thats the end of it...take it or leave it...
