Im not sure which way is correct either tbh? Maybe B.K's way is better? because i know at 80psi i have to seriously tighten those 20" pre filters whilst someone is holding the base for me, and me using a filter wrench,  i dread changing them as they can leak easy  under high pressure.

Pure Freedom mount the booster pump after the prefilters on their systems.

You've all got me thinking now, i wonder if i would get a higher psi on the R.O, with the booster between the system? I might have give it a try?

ive got the pure freedom 4040, not long after being its found out just how crap my water pressure is, its about 8psi, i then bought a booster pump and fitted it between the pre filters and the membrane, i suffered with air locks a lot and also my booster would only go to 30psi max, ive now changed it round so the booster is first and the pressure is a million times better. I just need to re-secure all my fittings as ive got some leaks and then i think I can get my pressure up to 60 ish psi which is a massive improvement .

so in answer to where the booster goes, I think a lot has to do with your initial water pressure

I need to increase my water production so is it worth fitting a booster pump I’ve got a pure freedom  2400gpd ro , if you’ve fitted one how much did your water production increase ? Currently taking about 18/20 hours to fill 1000 l Ibc regards Alan

This is the one I have. Its attached to a 4040.  Fills a static 500 ltre.   Tank 40 min
