Better doing it yourself if you can, you will get the prices U want, as i reckon a canvasser will just want to "get the job in" for the sale/ %, and overlook things like:  Bad access, Dangerous extension roofs, Building work, Locked gates/phone call, Parking, Dog mess etc. This will affect the price of the job, and whether or not, you would take it on.

in my experience i have only had problems with canvassing companies.

ive spent a lot of money with very poor returns.

i had a lot better success just advertising for a canvasser and training them myself how i wanted things doing.

if you have a local college near you, performing arts students can be great. they love playing a role, are usually quite chatty and extrovert.

i paid them min wage plus half of the first clean price (we charge double for the first clean)

They just want numbers in you don’t honestly think a canvasser cares what the works like do you it’s another job in their eyes if it’s a 1 bed flat, same as lead generation they don’t look up every job that comes in it’s just passed on coz it’s in the area you’ve stated you clean.
I seriously can’t imagine someone sits and google earths all the jobs that are available can you lol.

Ive used 4 canvassing companies and ive also done a bit of canvassing myself.

Canvassed work has the poorest retention rate out of any advertising method ive tried.

After 6 months you will probably be left with 30% of it. 50% if you are very lucky.

A lot will cancel before the first clean, a lot will cancel after the first clean as they just wanted a one off. Some wont pay you at all.
The list goes on as we all know.

The positive side of canvassing is that the work will be the most compact you can get.  Some of my best earning days are canvassed work.

Honestly i wouldnt bother there are easier and cheaper ways.

Hi mate, how are you doing?

Are your canvassing team still out in this 2nd lockdown?

I'm looking to get a team together myself but unsure whether to bother at this point if they're going to get shut down.

Do it yourself. Then you can have the satisfaction of saying you grew your business from nothing. That’s what I did 👍
We look at them, they look through them.

hey tyler,

i haven't had a canvassing team for a few years now.

it was what i did at the start and as a good way to get work quickly like people say. but also you get some hassle, and churn through quite a few clients.

i like leaflets and online advertising now. th clients i get are on the right prices and are the most reliable i have found

it's more to do with how it's done and what you're willing to pay. A canvasser should be qualifying and filtering while on the job  but many of them just want to get the sales numbers up.  Personally I had lot of success from canvassing but i would like to try something new in the new year.
