So they haven't run out of other peoples' money to spend yet?
It's just as well.
I'll have to have a think about whether I should claim or not.

Takes a lot to run out of borrowed money, but we’ve never been is such a dire debt situation in such a short period of time.

By all means take it. Just don’t claim it’s your tax money again Griff.

It’s debt money, not tax payers. Our nation no where near, not even close, covers the borrowing the government has taken.

I’m all for people taking it if they are eligible. 👍🏼

We just need to understand it’s all got to be paid back through taxes. Then you claim it was your money. But at the moment, it’s not  ;D

I never said it was my money: I said it was our money.
If the government borrows the money, it borrows it on the strength of us and our ability to pay it back through our taxes. The government's main form of income is taxes. Our money.
You said that we need to pay it back; we do because it was borrowed by us as a nation.
If BJ retires having borrowed a load of money the debt still stands and it's down to us to honour it.

Mate, you’re showing a serious lack of knowledge and intelligence here.

I’m so embarrassed for you, that I can’t even bring myself to explain.

Its socialism Griff, the money always runs out. Then people wonder why socialism never, ever works. Ever.

This is a short term socialism style intervention. It’s not sustainable.

It’s not our money, it’s debt. When we pay higher taxes, it’s precisely because of these socialist style payments that taxes have to rise. Then you can argue why should someone like deegee, who is ltd, pay higher taxes for our grants? See the unfairness?

The point being, socialism steals.

Anyway, we’ve been down this road on another thread, so I’ll leave it there.

We will have to agree to disagree...

Fair enough but deeege should have got the grant, imo. Maybe those earning over 50k too.
Socialism is too broad a term to just say it steals. It gives us health care, education, grants and loans etc. too.
But I respect your choice to leave it there  ;).
