« on: September 19, 2020, 06:13:53 pm »
Can i double check with any of you where you put your pressure gauge to test your psi, also whats the lowest pressure a 4040 can work good on a hf4 membrane, I'm going through everything and just wanting to make sure i have everything correct, cheers

Test pressure  just before the membrane as it's the membrane that needs the high pressure.
When ever you see spec sheets for HF4 they always seem to quote a test pressure of 100psi.

I think above 80psi will be fine. Below that you might be getting a higher % of waste.

My pressure is  just under 40psi form the tap, i boost it to around 80psi. The cheap polish 60psi pump you mention will still help, its better than just having tap pressure.

When I moved house I had to buy an RO as the TDS was a lot higher than my last house. My water pressure was 40psi, then the water board messed around with the piping in the village and it went down to 20psi. My RO wasn’t working very well so I bought an all in booster from Gardiners. Then all of a sudden the water pressure went up to 60psi. I was using an HF5 for low water pressure. I now use an HF4. I can get 100psi easily and have to turn the mains water tap back so as not to put too much pressure through the booster pump. I’d buy a booster pump if I were you. The RO brings the TDS down from 200+ to 006/007.
We look at them, they look through them.
