the most bizarre thing whilst cleaning windows
« on: August 12, 2020, 02:13:03 pm »
whilst out window cleaning  what is most bizarre thing  that you have witnessed?

ours is a follows..............

we pulled outside a house some while back , on this job my wife took her hose around the back as   I was going to do the fronts.

when we finished the job and got in the van my wife told me that she gave the lady of the house a bit of a shock,  the lady in question had filled up a bucket of water and was in the process of drowning a hampster .

my wife ask her what she was doing and her reply was that it was her daughters pet and the mother wanted it gone so she decided to drown it before her daughter returned from school.

talk about cruelty, from that day on we nicknamed her "Hammie The Hampster Killer"

I was doing a spot of collecting some years ago when I turned up at a customers house and the lady's little girl came to the door looking a bit upset.
I said, "Oh dear, someone isn't very happy."
Her mum said, "Her pet love bird has died."
To which the little girl piped up, "Yes, daddy hit it with a brick."
I was thinking, "Whaaat..." and as you can imagine I didn't quite know what to say.
All I could think of was, "There must be more to that story."
To which the mum replied, "Well, the bird was sick and her dad's a butcher by trade," and shrugged her shoulders

infact we stopped cleaning her windows from that day, it's only when we drive past her house the wife refers to her as Hammy The Hampster Killer, we did discuss reporting her but the wife said she would only deny it saying it was already dead

One of the most weird things ive seen is quite hard to describe in words, you had to see it to have the image burned into your brain. This was only about 3 months ago...

Me and a lad i was was working with pulled up at this house to clean the windows, id cleaned it 3 or 4 times before without problem....anyway  i jumped out the van and glanced at what i thought was the mother in the garden... I said hello, i thought to myself wow she`s a big woman and then i kind of looked away and glanced back up at what was confronting me in the driveway.

We were behind the garden gates at this point, i turned round to to look at lad who was working with me and his jaw was on the floor.  :o i looked back at what i thought was the mother...only it wasnt. Its the hardest thing to describe but it definitely wasnt the mother at all. It was what appeared to be a bloke, a very big bloke 6ft odd and wide as a house stood in the garden wearing nothing but a womans nightie! it was one of those floral nighties that an old woman might wear and as you can guess it was very tight! He must have been 20 stone plus ...The closest description i can give was it/he/she looked like sloth from the goonies, a real freaky individual.

Now im guessing this was her son and he had some mental issues clearly, but it was quite hard to say 100% what the gender was to be honest.

Anyway we hid round the other side of the van and must have debated for a good 5 minutes on how to proceed, we were both in fits of laughter mixed with being scared to death, it really was a most bizzare sight, this chap was huge and was just patrolling the front garden defending the entry like some super villian out of a movie.  We tried to compose ourselves but we just couldnt.

In the end i just had to pretend we had run out of water and left the job, never to return!

We used to clean the windows on a spread out in the sticks which was owned by some city folk who decided they wanted to try a bit of The Good life.

On one visit the lady came across the field outside the house from the direction of the barns asking if anyone had any experience lambing sheep as their 'pet' was about to drop one and they didn't know what to do.

Having done a few seasons lambing on farms in the south of England and Ireland I did my 'James Herriott' thing and within 10 minutes was up to my elbow inside a sheeps vagina.

Didn't even get a tip....

Once had a customer hang out of the top window and accuse me of not cleaning the top half of the sash window whilst water from it was actually dripping onto the back of her neck! Funnily enough, she wasn't particularly happy when I pointed that out!!
Bizarre!!😄😄
Comfortably Numb!

Ive posted this before a few years ago so apologies if youve already heard it.
Back in my ladder days, i turned up to this house id done several times before and just got on with it. Did the front and side and then went round the back, put my pointer up on the brickwork and just as i was about to start climbing heard someone shout out my name "Nick". Looked round and couldnt see anyone so started to climb. Again, "Nick", a little louder this time to which i replied "hello" but got no reply and  still coudlnt see anyone. Climbed a few more runs and yet again a voice called out "Nick".  I was getting a bit concerned by now as someone clearly wanted my attention but i still couldnt make out where they were. I carried on and yet again with quite an urgent tone in their voice i  heard "Nick" but this time i realized the voice was coming from inside the room i was about to clean as the window was ajar.  I guess at this point i must have felt whoever was calling out needed to talk to me quite urgently as this is the only i reason i can think why i did what i did next. As i got to the window , i opened it enough to stick my head in and say "hello" to be met with the sight of two blokes having sex! I wanted the  ground to open up and swallow me up, i dont know who was more shocked. I later found out that one of them happened to be called Nick  :), they wouldnt have even known i was there and then this idiot sticks his head through an upstairs window when they least expected it. Luckily for me when i saw them later they just laughed their heads off.

I was working away happily last summer in this nice, residential street, all big houses, when I heard an ear-splitting (animal) screech. It was so loud I actually ducked.

I put my pole down straight away and looked around to see where it had come from, fully expecting to find a poor animal injured or something.

Being at the back of the house, I waked/ran around to the front to see what had made the noise, only to see 2 huge peacocks walking up the road.

As I watched, in amazement, one took flight, again making that ear-splitting call, and landed on top of the house I was cleaning, settling down comfortably on the roof.

The other one just toddled off up the street. Later I asked a neighbour if he’d seen the peacocks, he replied they were an absolute nuisance, and were the ‘pets’ of a nearby farm. They made that incredible screech noise every day at about 5am!

Here it is

Went to a block management block of nine flats that we clean three monthly for a property management company on Monday with an employee opened the garden flat side gate only to find the resident hanging by his neck from a tree.

And another...

Back when I was working off ladders I was doing the woman’s bedroom window when one of her kids pops up and sticks his head out the window. He asks ‘D’you want to see mummy’s toy?’

And proceeds  to produce his mothers vibrator from under the pillow. Nice....
