Working for neighbours 🤨
« on: August 04, 2020, 09:34:30 am »
Go cardless is the answer, which I’m now setting up.

But got asked to clean a neighbours windows
I did, 1st clean in June. In and paid.

This clean July / out.

Bill put through door, as customer out.

Wrote on bill

could you please post payment
Through my door or email/text me
You can have my bank details for online payment if easier

Coming up two weeks now £7.50
Realise pitiful amount

What would you do, knock for payment ?
Then tell them politely go cardless?

Miss them out until paid

Must add I live back to back house and share a wall with them
Their front door is around the corner
I use to clean their windows 9 yrs ago and sacked them off as got bad with paying

They’re busy bodies and always moaning or complaining about somebody
I’ve politely pointed out their faults when they’ve had a moan 😁

Funny we say hello but really don’t like each other

I know I’m a mug 🤦‍♂️

What would you do
Thanks

They became bad payers 9 years ago,  you don't really like them, but decided to give them another chance, Fair dues,
but it looks like History is repeating itself,   i would just write the measly £7.50 Off they are messing you about for,
its not worth your time to be worrying about selfish neighbours like these for £7.50,  just sack them off, never ever
  clean for them again.

I used to do about 30 properties in the village where i live it used to take longer to clean them and longer to get paid off some of them than any other off my work. So i sold the lot onto another window cleaner that I've know for years best thing i did.

Nope I don't clean for neighbours.

There's a guy who does most in my road, I make him a coffee when he's here. I might get him to do my windows as they are a PITA now we've had an extension - I wouldn't take my house on!  :D

I must be fortunate. I clean most of my immediate neighbours and have done for years and had very few problems.

If you don’t like him then don’t ever ask him for the money.

£7.50 is a great price to not have to speak to a nobhead neighbour again.

I’ve never had a problem with jobs close to home if I take any on I just look at it as bonus money on the way home if for any reason you stop doing them he ho it’s not your “proper” work anyway.

Is it a full house you clean for £7.50?

Front (small) 2x 2 pane windows
1x 3 pane and 1x 3 pane bay

Easy peasy (if you get paid)

Did write on envelope, can you post through my door or pay online

Say I go next time and they have no money 🤔

Awkward 😁

9 yrs ago she’d bump into me and set reminders on her phone that she must pay me

Fool me once shame on you 😁😁

My rolling debt list can be anything between £500-£1500.....I see it as money in the bank.....it all comes in eventually....

The trick is to get in front with your bills and always have 4k or 5k in your current account at anyone time......

Good advice Daz 👍
My average is around £400 outstanding

But you know a p1ss taker pretty quick 😁

I’ve squirreled 🐿 up some money and reinvesting into my equipment

I’m going Spinaclean 14th to look at there add ons

I’m gonna get a gutter vac
And be doing that too

Obviously we can do f/s/g and Connie cleans too

Don’t know what the economy will be like soon so I’m adding another string to my bow

I think as window cleaners will be pretty safe
But there might be even more start ups soon 🤔
