Gardiner Light Green Ultra Flex PU Hose
« on: July 29, 2020, 07:17:22 pm »
How frustrating is this hose! Constantly battling to stop it tangling, gotta say I'm not a massive fan. Anybody else having issues with it?

I’ve got the 5.5id old green pole hose, it’s brilliant, but don’t think Alex sells It anymore?

That extra .5mm internal diameter genuinely helps flow!

Shame you don’t stock it anymore Alex?

It was always a bit stiff for the first couple of weeks, but lays flat after that and doesn’t tangle.

Edit - just checked, looks like it’s now labelled ‘5mm’ but on zooming in on the pic, it does say 5.5mm id.

If that’s the hose you’re on about, just give it two weeks, it will soften up and stop tangling eventually!

I’ve used the all season since it came out, it’s ok but not brilliant, tried Exceed blue but it kinks badly where it exits the pole, tried Exceed red and orange, hopeless couldnt even coil it back up. Had some other Gardiners stuff but only managed a day with it, forgot what it was now but it was like RO pipe.. reinforced yellow isn’t bad but needs barbs and is a little heavy.

the green stuff I have is about 18 months old. It was as bad after a year as it was on day one, it never got any better. It coils so bad it ties itself in knots!!
It's 5.5mm and says E1195 on it.

We use both the old green hose and the new one and don't have any serious issues with either.

So far it’s like taking a puppy to work. Always at my heels and wrapped round my legs!
Hoping it improves with use.

I use purefreedoms red hose and exceeds blue pole hose.
Years ago , I used to get tangled up something ridiculous but since my hoes are permanently attached , I don’t seem to get in a tangle anymore 🤷‍♂️.

Iv just had these delivered , no need for disconnecting hoses and it can’t break .

Kinked already at the pole base. Not impressed with it one little bit! Seems the same as Exceed blue.

We use exceed , Gardiners green Pu, and ionics orange pole hose never have any issues with any of them we are hose less set up so the pole hose is on the hose reels we have 30 meters on every reel (12 of them ) and find all work well Gardiners green is the stiffest we use hot water on all vans but have used it will cold and not had any issues with them using that either , I think you must be twisting it up yourself some how .
