What would you charge?
« on: July 28, 2020, 09:54:44 pm »
Hi guys

Purely curious. Don’t need the work at all but complete curiosity. Enquiry come in for a front only twice a year job for a terraced house (2 windows)

I work in the area once a month so not a big deal to clean although (I may eat my words) it’s one of those terraced roads where you prob won’t be able to park right outside unless you strike lucky...

What would you charge? She seemed nice enough and I didn’t want to just dismiss her as she undoubtedly has probably called various companies.

Cheers

We wouldn’t take on a job of that frequency, but if working next door and had the time would do it but would charge 3x the normal price ,

Probably around 10 Shillings a clean, does she also want it doing at a particular time of day?

I would kindly explain I have a minimum charge.
It's a game of three halves!

If you take stuff like this on within a few years you’ll have a load of work you want to either dump or pass on lol,let the bloke that has the rest of the street have it.

I wouldn’t stop my van for less than a tenner.

I don’t do terraces, fronts or backs, so would politely decline.

If it's in the area I already work in and it's two cleans per year I'd have to go £40.00 per clean I'd stay sat behind the steering wheel engine would probably remain running, employee would jump out clean windows and I'd invoice for bank transfer according to our payment T&C. Where's the hardship in that? seems like an easy £40.00 to me

I wouldn’t take it on , it’s an absolute minimum of 4 cleans a year with me.

If any job enquiries come in to me that have terrible parking issues, such as parked cars in the way, Double yellow lines,
i politely decline, explaining the issues to the customer.

I wouldn't even consider it......I do clean fronts only but it has to be next door to other work and be on a 4 or 8 weekly basis....

I had a phone call the other week(down a street I dont clean in)no access around the back...I politely declined....

Any job that has access issues, parking issues I dont take on unless it's a large property......
price higher/work harder!

That’s why I wouldn’t worry about all these so called newbies about they will get jobs most of us wouldn’t even consider doing, people worry because they see them out and about unless it’s the work you do being taken they’ll soon come and go especially if it’s a coldish winter that sees em off quick time, I’ve known some say I don’t know how you clean windows in the cold  I couldn’t feel my fingers lol.

I wouldn't bother because that to me is a one off clean. Which I don't do (unless they agreed to regular and cancel me after the first clean  :D in that case I've done loads of cheap one off cleans).

That said, if I wanted it probably £20. What's it going to take 10 mins or so...

I think I may have passed that fella your number Daz.  I thought you cleaned that area so it may have been worthwhile, obviously not if it was a stand alone.
