The lads down south with £1500/pm mortgages, £200/pm water bills and family’s to support will be along shortly to congratulate you on your 25 hour work week Daz......  ;D

I was just wondering how many of you working 25 hours a week a have mortgages and young family?

Up and till this time last year my daughters nursery fees alone where £1200 a month.

Fair play to him.Got his work life balance just right for his needs.

Why did you have to pay for nursery?

£1200  :D

That's ridiculous, twice as much as my rent!

Any where between £50-£70 a day is about the average around here.Me and my wife both work.
Nurserys in London are £100 a day and up.

£600 rent is cheap is that for a house?

Private,the average is about 6-800 a month.

Depends where they are and how many hours.Full time they are around £60 a day.The location will largely determine the price.
A company down here in Hertfordshire has one in my town at £60 a day.The same company has one next to my wife's office 10 miles away at £80 a day.

Ah right, so I guess you have 2 Incomes but then you have nursery fees and sky high rents/mortgages.

My gf doesn't work so I have no nursery fees, my rent is £600pm for a 3 bed semi, but then we only have one income so I guess it's one of those.

Private nursery's around here are about £45 a day, but even at that it wouldn't be worth my gf working. She will go back when kids go to school full time.

It’s definitely a difficult time having toddlers. We had 2 in nursery care at £120/day for a couple of years. It’s a big relief when they go off to reception class, but then you have the cost of wraparound school care.

Fair play Daz looks like you have it figured out, good balance is so important but very hard to achieve...... I dont yet 😂 im trying to figure whether to keep slaving myself or hire a body to help 🤔

For me compacting my round over many years and using the best WFP equipment for the job helps with efficiency.....

It's the best time to be a window cleaner(compared to my trad days and collecting 3 or 4 times a week!)👍😁
price higher/work harder!

You couldn’t rent a shed down here for 5-600 a month and that’s a fact as far as a property goes, the majority have to find 1500 a month with council tax on an average mortgage  for a very small house cheapest half decent flat rent wise around 850 roughly.

And you have to realise that when you are knocking people cleaning that office block for £120  ;) they are probably paying 600 a month rent not 1500.

£1500pm up here would rent you something like this

I’m not knocking anyone buddy that’s irrelevant as the price wasn’t slightly out it was ridiculously out as far as I’m concerned, the point was you have got firms going around driving prices down because they need to feed the employees as well as thereselves so they take these jobs on for way less than they should be getting cleaned for.
I value my worth more than what that job was priced for but he ho you price what you want, some of these prices when you take expenses off are not worth doing they are only covering staff and fuel and wear and tear next to no profit.

£300 and you’ll never own it. For not much more you could buy a similar place that you will eventually own. You could even move to a decent area away from the smack heads for not too much more.

That’s the whole point .......... benefits and a council flat.

ive never claimed benefits since 1992....and even then it was only for 10 months......lots of people round here have been on benefits for many many years, some have never had a job for 20 years or so.......

ironically its the foreigners who are mainly the workers round here, not the local lads......

Why is that ironic? ???

The actual irony is reading the two bits in red...

A council house is a form of benefit  ::)roll
Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?

The property with the mortgage would be yes if you were to buy it  On you’re own it’s probably nearer to 2500.

Benefits of working 50 hr week

1. Retire before you hit 50.

seriously........ i couldnt work 50 hours a week window cleaning mate.it would do my head in.......ive not worked over 50 hours a week since i was 18 (when i worked on a plant nursery)....i hated it.... ;D

i dont want to retire until im forced too........
I work probably 50  hours a week that includes a Saturday,  i do lots of extra jobs which I enjoy, couldn't just clean windows.

wow.....i didnt realise some window cleaners worked such long hours.....you must be turning over £70-£80k a year?

If you are physically working 50 hours a week you deserve to earn a good wedge. 25 hours for me window cleaning seems like a lot, I couldn't imagine doing it 8 hours a day 6 days a week that would be my idea of hell.
