If you earn crap money claim both the grants if you don’t you either can’t claim it or it won’t be worth the paperwork.

How’d you figure?

I’m not applying for it by the way but I’m interested in your logic.
Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?

Bounce back loans are the kindest thing they’ve done 👍 free for a year and then 2.5% for the duration with no early pay back penalties,Tax and Nat Ins will go up and stay up even new born babies are crying more they say because they’ll be the main contributors to helping to pay this back from when they 18- retirement 🤣🤣

So you pay tax on the grant?

All these posts of waffle and other rubbish and your point was just, you pay tax on the grant.

Do you not get the fact that if you earn a substantial living claiming extra money and continuing to work will put your income up,if you read between the lines  it’ll tell you that it won’t be worth it.  Have you not worked hardly at all in the last 4 months and it’ll continue to be the same for the next 3-4,If so claim away if you have you’ll get shafted royally.

I’m not claiming it mate.

And I understand how earnings and tax work, I also use an accountant whom I trust.

I was just wondering how much cr@p you’d spout rather than just putting “remember you’ve got to pay tax on it as it’ll be classed as earnings”.

Turns out, as per normal, a lot of cr@p.

Anyway, I’ll leave you to stalking Dazmond now; all the best 👍

I think people are forgetting that it will put the income up that was my point,it’s hardly been mentioned that it may cause people to tip over into a certain bracket that will increase the tax overall.
If some people can keep taking grants they must be earning very little or should I say declaring very little.
I mean it will put the income up if they are continuing to work anything like as usual.

That’s not how tax brackets work.
I thought you’d know that...

You wouldn’t be allowed to apply if you were higher tax rate anyway, so I seriously doubt there is anyone out there applying for grants that would take them to higher tax brackets.

Mate, I’m sure there are things you do know a bit about but you should really stop giving advice on things you don’t know what you’re talking about...

We've all known from the outset that any Seiss grant is NI&Taxable NWH. So a claimant will possibly pay back a third if things pick up at the end of the year? So what?
It's a game of three halves!

I’m not talking about if things pick up I’m talking about people that are still earning the same and still claiming.

So if they claim and at the year end their business has  recovered and done well and so they have an extra £7,500 (or their own computed sum) they pay tax and NI on it. Again, so what?

Is this not pushing you up into a different Tax bracket with all this claiming then 🤣🤣🤣 if you can claim 8-10 grand and still be working you’ll have a nice surprise January 21 lol.
They don’t need to look into anything because if you don’t need it and you are still working putting it through the books you’ll give it back in Tax lol,of course they’ll say claim away unless you are earning peanuts you’ll give a few grand of it back to em.
What a load of crap you talk....firstly how will anyone get a nice surprise in January 21 lol ? The grant/grants will be included in the 20/21 financial year so the tax return  won’t even be submitted by January 21! As for paying tax and NI on the grant/grants.....I would rather have in my bank account 50% of whatever I’m entitled to than 50% of nothing.

Correct to a certain extent....but you forgot about us sweaty socks, we have different tax bands, we pay higher rate tax @ 41% after just under £43 500. I paid some higher rate tax last year but still qualified for the grant.

Sorry I was incorrect I was meaning the following year when this may have been forgotten about,if your earnings are down by what you’ve claimed then nothing would change if you’ve been able to earn the same and have taken for example 7-8000 it could bump you up to 40% tax from 20% up to 50000.  Depends what you earn you could end up in the 40% tax bracket.
