'It is possible that a further HMRC directive will be published before applications open for the second SEISS grant.'
That's from a tax expert. I think it's much more likely than 'possible'.

If one of a self employed persons'  customers insists on him  wearing a £1 mask to carry out work for him  because of his fear of coronavirus, then is that self employed person  £1 worse off than he would have been if coronavirus didn't exist? I believe the answer to that question is Yes.
 Is he adversely affected?

If he says or thinks  that  he is , then could he rightfully  claim the full grant?

If a  self employed person thinks that tens of thousands of people are going to lose their jobs after furloughing ends  and thinks this will affect the economy and subsequently his  business related income, then is he  correct to state that on or after 14 July he think that he is adversely affected by corona virus?
If yes, can he claim the full grant?
Again, it comes down to 'adversely affected' and what it means regarding this.
If you've lost two £12.50 jobs, bought a mask or lost confidence in the market, I reckon the HMRC will show a lot more discretion this time.

It says...

If you claimed but found you were ok after then you should pay it back... 🤔

I will leave this here for comments..
Source...

https://inews.co.uk/news/hmrc-targets-false-claims-self-employed-financial-support-scheme-545927

Your source does not back up what you said in the first quote. Nowhere in the article does it say what you said it said. It does say this however ...

Suggesting some who received SEISS cash may want to return it, he added: “Some eligible customers may choose to voluntarily repay a grant or part of a grant, and this is entirely a matter for them. For those that do want to repay we have provided practical guidance on how to do so.”

It's a game of three halves!

Iv spoke to Hmrc And they told me if I spend £1 on a mask , then I’m adversely affected. My advice is go for it , just keep the receipt for the £1 mask. He also told me that if I sit and have a think about how many customers I may lose at Christmas, then I’m adversely affected by the 14th July . Iv just to make sure I write my thoughts and feelings down with a date and time as proof. There will be no comeback and can keep 100% of the 2nd claim, my advice is go for it.

Au Rav..

HMRC is also encouraging self-employed people that were eligible to have claimed up to £7,500 in the first tranche of funds from the Treasury’s Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS), but subsequently did not need it, to return the cash.

This is what it says....
Second or third paragraph down..

It does say, 'encorages,' not demands.

Is this not pushing you up into a different Tax bracket with all this claiming then 🤣🤣🤣 if you can claim 8-10 grand and still be working you’ll have a nice surprise January 21 lol.
They don’t need to look into anything because if you don’t need it and you are still working putting it through the books you’ll give it back in Tax lol,of course they’ll say claim away unless you are earning peanuts you’ll give a few grand of it back to em.

Work it out if you are able to claim say the top amount in the first grant that means you are close to the maximum amount,if people then claim again it’s going to push their Tax and Nat ins up isn’t it they ain’t daft people will end up giving most of the second one back in a meal out with Rishi 🤣🤣

Nope, tried twice and can’t decipher the code you’ve used to type your posts.

You remind me of those old DJ’s that used to talk over songs but you couldn’t understand what they were talking about.
Just a load of muffled up waffle, with a random laugh at the end!

Help me out here chief and give us a clue what your wise words mean?
