Gardiner Extreme Sill Brush
« on: June 10, 2020, 06:13:10 pm »
Used it for the first time today. Definitely noticed the weight difference from the standard medium mixed sill brush.

I'm not sure it cleans as well tho. Less bristles from what I can tell and doesn't seem to scrub as well.

Also seems a bit flimsy.

Not overly impressed.

Anyone agree/disagree?

Which did you go for?
Medium soft, or stiff?
I’m a big fan of the medium mixed sill brush, but I like the idea of having the brush bumpers and saving a bit of weight too

I’ve got the xtreme flocked sill brush. My favourite.
Got a brand new dupont Ultimate I’ll probably never use, I like the cill brush so much.

give it time.......i love them and use them for most work these days....i use the stiff bristle version on a carbon gooseneck......

they stop me scratching upper sills with the stock of the brush at narrow angles and are great for down the side of tight connys when i use a fixed gooseneck(which is most of the time)......

Bought a new pole last week and ordered the Ultimate DuPont Tapertec just to try the bristle combo. I love it. But I want it on an Xtreme sill brush as I love these brushes

Xtreme cill brushes work fine on a swivel too. Stiff version isn’t very good with cold water, it’s too stiff.
My flocked one seems to have kept it’s shape pretty well too so far.
Great design provided you’ve got the angle right, fit the cill really well.

This brush looks good. I note it comes with the jet capsules but can you use it just with the normal pencil jets? Also I’ve never used anything other than standard pencil jets but are the larger pencil jets any good?

O yeah other thing I noticed is that the flow of water is a bit less than before.

I haven't touched the controller on the pump so must be something to do with the brush.

Could it be these new capsules?

Got sent green ones and black ones, is there any difference?

When you get used to lighter brushes it's very hard to go back to heavier standard brushes.....you dont really need the extra weight on the end of your pole(esp if your using xtreme poles)and you can clean just fine with the lightweight version of some brushes......

I've never used a standard sill brush or SL brush for years.....

just try and use a SL brush for one day and you'll realise just what a difference a light brush makes to everyday strain on both yourself and your pole.....Ill guarantee you ll be aching after a couple of hours!esp around the shoulder blades....

They do 1.4 jets as well which are great on a wider brush as you need 4 jets
