I've been asked by a regular customer to clean this floor especially the grout any help or advise would be great? I am going to book myself a course once lockdown has lifted

You can use either grout brushes, magic sponges/hand pads or a rotary scrubber. Wet the grout lines first with water before applying whatever chemical you choose. I would use a ph neutral soap/degreaser. Once the grout lines are cleaned, use a flat mop to clean the rest.

Pre wet the floor apply SRP X-Treme Heavy Duty Tile and Grout Cleaner with a Mono Rotary Machine fitted with a soft to medium brush.  Agitate, allow to dwell then vacuum.  Then rinse with SRP “Pink”Ph Neutral and rinse again.  Then seal with SRP Impregnator H2O

I am sorry but your advice is not correct!  You cannot use a grout colourant or get it to adhere correctly without thoroughly cleaning the floor first, rinsing it and allowing it to completely dry.  If you do all that you have done the job anyway so grout colouring afterwards would be an extra charge.

I am not quite sure what you are asking or indeed saying?

If you are saying it is better to colour grout than clean it?  Then you didn’t read my previous post because you can’t colour grout without cleaning it and drying it thoroughly first.

If you are  asking is it better to colour grout  than  clean then the answer is still the same you have to clean it first and allow it to dry.  But if you then colour it after that you have given it brilliant protection and ease of ongoing maintenance

I use a grout scraper I got it from eBay as Kev Martin says you have to clean the grout first because it’s full of dirt and soap scum from endless mopping (dirt moving imo) then I dry with dripods and although the grout isn’t fully dry you get an idea of how much you need to do with the scraper

To clean hard floors and grout you use a Mono Rotary Machine fitted with a soft to medium brush.  No need for any grout scrapers or the like.  Maybe a stand up V Shape Grout Brush if you have grout lines at the very edges but this should not be the case  if it was tiled correctly

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head with poor installation but when that dirt gets  ‘in’ the grout then scraping/shaving it out can be the only way

I have never come across a single floor that I cannot get the grout immaculate!  I use the same method and it works every single time.  I use a mono rotary machine fitted with a soft to medium brush,  Xtreme HDT&G Cleaner, if the grout is really bad I sometimes add honing powder or liquid poultice  to the HDT&G and a wet vac it never fails.  I have never had to dig grout out or scrape it.

My wife suggests a tooth brush and a bottle of bleach will sort it.
(Hopefully not my toothbrush)

(Hopefully not my toothbrush)

If your Wife is good at anything else , I would get her to stick to it!  Because  Her suggestion on how to clean grout with a toothbrush and bleach  Is at best a pipe dream or you have have just bought a job lot of toothbrushes and bleach and she is bored trying to think of ways to use them.

You can try a scrubber.

I used a CRB (TM3) on a small T&G floor today, for the first time, and was amazed at how good it was, so easy in little confined space (WC), and got right to the edge in the kitchen. We get through a lot of Kevin's Xtreme clean - excellent stuff.
