What's the best electric reel? Until now I have used manual cox reels but considering going powered.

I like the look of the power up 3d. Which is best.?... I wouldn't know. Unless someone's used all of them they're always going to say the one they spent a lot of money on is best.

Thing is I use Cox reels anyway so the jump in price isn't that big (unless I go for a fully kitted out grippareel).

Waterworks HD.  Not used any of the others but mine reels in the hose electrically.

judging by the robust trucks you use for window cleaning id go for the PF reelmasters....they are really solid and robust...in fact very much like the blue cox reels(i have one of them too)......they also have a solid brass rotary joint on the side of the reel.....

the older HD waterworks reels are  too narrow and the hose can jump off the sides...the build quality is not as good as the pure freedom reel by a long shot IMO.....

the newer HD reels i cant comment on really.....i think they are light and made of plastic

The HD reel is no problem once you are used to using it,microbore only  really it reels in lovely it’s got more brake horse power than most vans 🤣

I have Grippatank Pure Freedom and power up reels
Pure Freedom by far the best one

I have the Pure Freedom with swivel base and 600mm pull out roller guide extension fitted close up to the tailgate with room to swivel in either direction left or right outside of the vehicle, so much easier than using a manual Ionics hose  reel fixed to the floorpan with barn doors.

Use to think I was just as quick reeling in manually as electric hosereels but there is no comparison. It's so much quicker walking out with it being guided by the extension roller almost over the pavement area  walking straight out to the job without it tangling up if it got caught on a tyre or other obstacle. Reels in as fast or slow as needed or confident using the variable speed switch. Forgotten a few times to take my hand off the switch quick enough so fitted a rubber disc to the end of the hose as a reminder when reeling in.

Couldn't go back to a manual hosereel now, I'm hooked, it makes life much easier, less effort and more time saved.

  ive still got the old clover leaf one i ditched the speed operator it was useless. im thinking of converting my other reel for back up  save a few quid  may be able to afford a new pole..

My elbows used to be knackered after a day of manual reeling , long term it’s defo not good for you. I would never go back to manual , pees me off when watering the garden and iv got to manually reel the garden hose in 😂

The ones that think they are not worth having are the ones that park on the road and clean 30-40ft away from the van,once you start using lots of hose job after job you see the light.

I started off with an electric cox reel with custom Spring controller (pure freedom now use it) apart from speed it was awesome.

Moved onto a power up HD reel and apart from the chain jumping twice in all the years I've used it and the hose slipping off the sides it's a really good reel.

I now have 2 Power up 3D reels and so far they seem to be really good.  I have had a couple of leaks and yet to stop them but i am investigating  tomorrow why that is.

There's 7 vans out and my franchisees use Power Up Hd reels, I don't think Power Up 3D would last in their hands even if they  purchased them with their own money.

My advice would be to go for a Pure Freedom reel for employee's, as for time saving it's a no brainer.
