I’ve always wondered Rich, why you painted your van pink all those years ago?
Was it because you wanted a ‘camper’ van?

No , it was more of a marketing ploy really, it did work to a degree, residential came flying in but commercial kind of dried up  ;D

I am glad really as my situation now could have been a lot worse !
I'm so lazy I'm getting tired of it !

What about the furloughed people with second jobs now working alongside supermarket workers and taking their overtime?
No morals for them.

Ok , a lot of them are minimum wage jobs which are only getting 80% of their wage. Do you know how much minimum wage jobs earn a week?
Around £300 a week (£240 a week @ 80%).
Obvs 50% of that for part time. Some people have got fed up of sitting at home (which I don’t blame them). .... imo

I took a month out and earned around £194 with customers still paying. Not claimed a penny. This month I have struggled to keep up with the jobs , 1st cleans. Starting earlier , finishing later , working Saturdays. Iv certainly had a record month this month.

Gutted I can't get it being Ltd but I absolutely would take it if I could.

There's going to be big tax hikes for all following this so if you can't beat em join em imo.

And that’s exactly the way these thickos are thinking about Cummings . If he can go out then I can , absolutely thick. All these businesses on here turning over x amount of turnover and yet haven’t got 2 pennies to rub together it’s laughable. You’d be better off working in tescos

The first payment has more than covered any shortfall for me, as a result I won’t be making a second claim.

What some people don’t understand is that this tax hike when and if it happens , will be based on how much the government have paid out on these grants.
Zero people apply for the grant then it will have a positive effect on the tax hike . 1000’s of people who didn’t need it but applied for it to get extra cash that they did not need, then it’ll have a negative effect and huge tax hike. Don’t encourage people to take this 2nd grant that are working. The people that need it are not window cleaners

The thing is I don’t turn over a huge amount due to health reasons , I reckon I go out for 3 to 4 hours a day and even then I’m shot to bits , if we are talking money then I have no problem in saying that I earn in between 80 and 120 a day .
I’m just glad that I have never proclaimed to be a big hitter  ;D

As has been said above by NWH , the taxman will see right away who shouldn’t have claimed it , the only people who might go under the radar are the cash only guys and book cookers.
That is why you should look long and hard before making the choice to claim a second lot , I shall be doing some maths today and again in Aug before I make my choice !

Can't claim until August so it's probably best to wait till then before making a decision rather than guessing what shape you'd business is going to be in. Already 3 of the top scientists have come out against the speed we're leaving lock down, the Sage committee reckoned on 1000 new cases a day by now, we have 8000 plus so who knows what's round the corner, we could be heading for a full on European type lock down for all we know,im taking life a day at a time.

This money is being given to you if you need it because you’ve lost money or you feel you will be affected by this,it’s based on your turnover so you or you’re accountant has already sat down and worked that out I take it.
The figures are there and will be for years to come fast forward to the next hand out when again you are declaring you’ve been affected not might be affected by this crisis, forget the first payout this next one is the one you need to sit and think will my records show I needed it.
You can’t say I’ll claim the money because who knows what might happen at the end of the year it’s not for that it’s to cover lost earnings to keep a roof over your head and help to continue to pay bills,I’ve heard it on good authority forget the first claim but you need to decide what the accounts will look like if you decide to claim again.
When they get on top of this they will try to see who’s milked this, the inland revenue don’t ask for the money back they demand it back.

Correct.
The first one hasn't expired yet and folk are already looking at the second. How do you know that you've been adversely affected yet? It's for June, July and August  ::)roll.

Are the pubs/hotels/shops etc opening on Monday? No. Are they all going to be opening at all in June? No.
Theres several hundred pounds of my turnover gone for that period. I know that I will be affected in that period.

Great for all the businesses that are primarily domestic window cleaners and have not been affected so far, but people need to stop talking in generalisations about all window cleaners being out of order for taking grants that are specifically designed to help them. This is literally a case of 'mind your own business' because everyones is different.

Dentist gave me 6 months notice not to clean the practice or his house. I can't see a problem with taking another 3 months support.
There has been no condition or qualification of "need" it's a grant to help out if you have been "adversely affected" that's it.
Thousands of small businesses go bust every year, thousands more have troughs and peaks in income there is no way they are going to police the grants.
If you take it you will pay more tax and N.I. on the income for this tax year.
I am near retirement age and dropping a load of work, 3 storey stuff and the hard jobs, this will boost my income but I expect overall income will work out just the same and it will make my life easier.
I live in a cul - de - sac and out of the 10 households 1 is retired, out of the other 9 households there are only 3 who have someone who actually goes out to work!
Next door couple in their twenties living in a similar house to ours, 19 Reg car on the drive, no arthritis or pains yet I am the one working to keep them while they are still in bed when we come home for lunch, they haven't done a day's work since they moved in.
If they can get an easy life why can't I get a bit too?
Worst case is you will pay approx. 29% of the grant back that leaves 71% free money why not?

If you have been adversely effected then take the grant. Don’t justify it by comparing yourself to a family of spongers though, as that makes you just the same as them.
