« on: May 28, 2020, 09:46:31 pm »
Hey Lads,
Just bought a new brush with the jet capsules, plus the close coupled jet assembly. Not sure how to fit it TBH and help please?
Thanks, Phil.

Huh? It’s all just push fit?

High Tower,
I know that mate, the close couple is low profile so how does it fit around the brush socket?

Over it. You just gotta cut the jet tubing to size. You still wanna be able to get your thumb to the quickloc though.

I fitted mine to a swivelled brush but fitting is the same with a fixed brush

M&C's  good pictures show how it fits just above the brush socket.

On the product page - https://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/all-products/water-fed-poles/brush-fittings-jets-sockets-scrapers/close-coupled-jet-hose-assembly.html - there are fittings instructions lower down - copied below:

Fitting Instructions
1. Remove black stem elbows and push fit into Jet Capsules
2. Place T connector centrally either just above or below brush socket
3. Measure the needed length of the jet hose to fully connect into each stem elbow - cut off excess hose
4. Push-fit jet hose into each stem elbow

It is better to give yourself slightly too much jet hose length to start with and then trim down than cut off too much initially.

Does this have a purpose? Just looks a more complicated way of doing it.

What wrong with good old pencils and a
T connector.

I'm tempted to be cheeky and say 'No' it doesn't have a purpose! ......... but I won't  ;)

As the website says -

  • Helps prevent jet hose catching on door handles, bushes, etc.
  • Allows for a 'loop free' jet hose assembly

Also feedback from customers modifying the pole set up to include a swivel or device like a Univalve showed it was very helpful in preventing damage to the other component parts of the brush.

I've fitted this to 2 of my poles so far and it definitely helps and is much tidier.

I'll be upgrading all poles to this when i can be bothered too.  Having a few lazy days thanks to the sunshine and hot weather.

Big up to my homeboy Alex for always innovating  8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Hi Alex, I’ve not been a fan of these jets but this close coupled malarkey makes them better. Why aren’t they sold with the correct length of hose to the jets? I’m assuming all the smaller brushes jet capsules are set in the same place on each stock. No biggy,  it would just make them plug and play from the unboxing

Hi Tony

Unfortunately not all the brushes share exactly the same jet hole placement - therefore we would need several different pre-cut size of close-coupled jet assemblies  and this would lead to its own set of complications and issues  :(
