Anyone got an SLX 35 or 39?
« on: May 16, 2020, 07:46:32 pm »
Need a bigger pole for occasional higher stuff, purely residential. Would probably use it once a day, max.

Considering the SLX 35 or 39.

Anyone got one they can give me their impression of?

Yes Jay got the slx 39 and use it a few times a day as my slx 22 reaches a majority of my work... great pole IMO

I have one of the original SLX40. Its all of 10/11 years old now and it was treated to a smart clamp upgrade a few years ago.
Again my SLX22 is my everyday pole. I probably use the SLX40  4 or 5 times a month.  I only use it on full length once every 6 weeks to clean an old Victorian building. I use it for the whole building as it has a deep reach gooseneck on it. It only gets fully extended this once to clean the velux window in the roof.

There are a couple of sea front flats the pole won't reach so I pass any work onto a fellow windie who has a longer pole.

If you are short like I am then extending the pole is challenging as the section lengths are longer than the section lengths of my SLX22.
I also have the beginnings of arthritis in my fingers so the diameter of the base section does make my hands sore if I use it for too long.

We have done our local high school for about 10 years and have a run of 3rd story windows. The SLX40 will reach these easily where my sons SLX25 won't reach them. I'm afraid that I am unable to do the run by myself and so son and I take turns. My SLX22 will just reach the 2nd story so I change over to that.
Success is 1% inspiration, 98% perspiration and 2% attention to detail!

The older I get, the better I was ;)

I have an slx with extensions to take it to about 39ft.

OK used straight up but at 45 degrees over a conny etc it's horrendous. But then I think any pole used like that would be.

I try to avoid any houses where I need more than 25ft.

Our franchisees all have SLX-35s (to complement their daily use SLX-22s). No complaints. For occasional use they are fine.

I recently bought an SLX 35 , great for the money and way better than what it replaced.
I don’t use it much but if it was to be used a lot I would definitely consider an Extreme.

Not long after I bought it I was given a metal banded Extreme 25 in very good order , I was gutted as I could have just bought a couple of SLX extensions to add on !
I'm so lazy I'm getting tired of it !

I think that is the ideal combination of poles. The 22 covers almost everything for me, including most dormers and townhouses, whilst still being compact and lightweight for ground floors unlike the 25 or 27.
I’ve not come across anything on domestics that I can’t reach with the 35 because it’s not long enough.
And they are both great value for money.
