Things seem to be getting moving again....
« on: May 14, 2020, 05:25:31 pm »
Had a great day today, my main contract has started back up and basically start where we left off in March. Great news for me. Apart from a couple of large monthly offices (in/out) and a couple hundred quid a month of retail work I’m back upto full speed now.

The lads that are mainly commercial how are you finding things? Any of your work starting to get in touch over the last week or so?

I am pleased for you, good to hear you are getting some of your commercial work back.
My commercial work was on camp sites and I do not think they will open up again this year, they usually close in October. I'll speak to one site owner Monday to find out if he thinks they will re- open this year.

I think it’s July 4th at the earliest for holiday parks reopening?

I turned up to clean some offices today. I clean them every 8 weeks. I ask the gaffer if it’s ok to clean before I start. No problem, crack on he said. Then he comes out and tells me 11 out of 15 staff had the virus in February  :-\

No problems with commercials as yet but I have a leisure centre to clean soon and I think that one will suspend for the time being.
We look at them, they look through them.

Mine are gradually coming back.
Still a couple that haven’t opened including the office contract we clean.

Glad for you mate, that’s great news 👍🏼

I’m still waiting on a children’s nursery (that won’t start for ages), a block of offices, and a car show room.

On the lower end of the scale, still lost a several smaller businesses and a pub.

If I get it all back I’ll be more than pleased.

Oh yeah forgot about my pubs. Couple hundred quid a month there too so still a good chunk down but I’m sure it’ll all come back soon enough.

Clean Cloth - I think your campsite will be open this year, probably on July. The government are going to want to get uk tourism moving as quickly as possible, with foreign holidays being a big doubt for this year there’s going to be millions of people holidaying in the uk for the first time in ages.
