I have a 40 40 pumped from pure freedom
I always run the water before I connect the di to around 2 to 5   then connect di into static tank I change my di around 2 to 4  but after I shake bottle it normally goes to 00  so I normally get 6 months out of the resin 6ltr bottle 1000 ltres weekly
my question is should I change filters at the same time or should I leave them for a year I flush every 6 weeks

I always run for a while until5 or 2 without pump then connect di run it until 00 then switch on pump

How are you maintaining your system

If you want to save the resin change the pre filters more often I can produce 1000s of liters with 2 pre filters and HF5 40x40 at an output of 2-3 before resin, resin in van lasts ages not as long if it’s parts per billion though that’s the downside with that resin unless you have a proper meter and you lose track of the literage through normal resin you’ll not know the right time to change.
You use little water 6 months is still good.

Change them more often it’ll help protect the membrane and it’ll give you a better after RO output just by changing those they ain’t that expensive are they,I don’t flush my RO regularly I think tbh it’s not needed like they advise you to do it,when I do flush it I flush it for a good 20 minutes or so.
If you have a really wet winter it can eat through the pre’s quicker due to the rise in silt in the input water, during heavy periods of rain over a long period pre filters can go from lasting weeks-months to days because of this.

The sediment filter will stop production if clogged with silt or other so unless this happens don't worry too much about it, Iv let my carbon filters go for a year before changing with no problems, as I always say, smell your water for chlorine if there's enough chlorine in it to damage the membrane you will definitely smell it, pre filter sellers don't like to let on about this but chlorine in small amounts wont damage the membrane, if it did there's no way a few quid's worth of carbon would protect it.
