The rules where always going to get flouted more the longer we where in lockdown, its one of the reasons why the government didn't lockdown earlier.

In hindsight yes. But it's too late for that now. Italy warned us, we took no notice. We now have the highest death toll in Europe, second only to the US. Restrictions will be lifted gradually because the economy demands it. Unfortunately I think that's only going to prolong it.  We've already shown as a society  we cannot be trusted to follow 'guidelines'.  We are a long way from being out of the woods. Italy on the other hand, enforced lock down, empty streets, no exercising outside or only travel to work if you can't work from home nonsense. They will recover far quicker than we are going to.

my auntie lives in spain and they ve only been allowed out once a week for 7 weeks,no exercise,nothing and their death rates still very  high.....

This is the joke of all this coronavirus stay at home save the NHS 🤣 don’t worry people garden centres opening next week we are looking into seeing if we can get you a game of golf etc what a load of 💩 it is.

And that's the point isn't it ?
We  had fair warning from our European neighbours and could see a pattern emerging yet still failed to act.

Well not so great now or  even have been for a long time. Been caught with our pants down and now on our knees, it's a shambles of a $hitshow  and nobody can deny we were not warned.

When you get older you may think differently. 

Life is precious.  We take precautions to preserve our life where we possibly can. You do as well. I'm sure you look both ways checking for traffic before crossing the road. If you totally believed in "if your times up then so be it cant stop the grim reaper from taking you" you wouldn't bother to look both ways or teach your children to.

This virus is an issue for as older, more vulnerable ones. At the moment all we are doing is to reducing demand on the NHS by staying at home. Until a vaccine is found we all have to catch it to become immune apparently. My daughter has had all the symptoms and has had a terrible time with it. She is fit and healthy. If I catch it I'm pretty sure I won't make it.

I feel I'm in the same situation as an uncle of my mother was back in the early 1900's. He had sugar diabetes and in those days and there was no cure. People who had this suffered a terrible death. He died in 1920, 2 years before insulation because commercially available. Is history going to repeat itself in our family again? I hope not for my sake.

Good luck to them. My mates a plasterer and was travelling to a job in Anglesey yesterday, he got pulled 3 times on the A55 asking where he was going. They even rang the builder he was working for to check his story was true.

The Welsh really don’t want holiday home owners there at the moment.

All nonsense, there was a guy in the UK who died of Pneumonia in November of last year who they now reckon had Corona which means when it comes to infection we could have been well ahead of the rest of Europe and just didn't know it, when this all dies down China is going to have a lot of questions to answer, plus the only reason we look so bad is unlike other countries we count everybody who dies testing positive for corona as a corona death, even though Corona may not even have played a part in their death.

I can see were JK is coming from, how many people have risky hobbies and sports ? how many people eat biscuits and other non essential rubbish ? how many people take a drink and so on ?
Its the things we enjoy in life that make it precious.

They've abandoned the herd immunity plan. I don't know why you're still going on about that.
How could it work when they didn't have a vaccine or know enough about the virus? It put you in bed for a week so it'll kill thousands of others (though your immune system could have been weakened by a dose of the 'flu in your 20's).
The best strategy has been to hit it early and contain it. To stop the spread of it until the infection rates come right down.
It was clear weeks ago that herd immunity wasn't an option and I'm shocked that you still think it is.

Its the things we enjoy in life that make it precious.

But this is a transmittable virus. You can put others at risk. I don't go round handing out biscuits to diabetics. That's why we have a lockdown.
But is it all too little too late? Some people, that were bed ridden with a fever, were allowed to come back from Spain in February and go about their daily business. They should have been quarantined instead of potentially spreading a deadly virus in the name of herd immunity.
