I'll be celebrating the freedoms won on VE day by exercising my freedom to work.
Follow the money.
We were free before, weren't we?

It’s a biggie. Maybe the most important event in the last century?
Most of my family were killed in the resistance.

Wonder how many right wing groups will be celebrating the end of fascism is Europe?

We ain’t working.
All the British right wing will be celebrating victory over Germany 75 years ago. It’ll be a useful distraction.
To be fair, we could do with a distraction; though some of it is cringeworthy.

I wonder if we come out of our 'war' the way we came out of it 75 years ago and how long this support for the NHS will last?

Went for a run this morning and seen a local window cleaner starting a house at 7:10am. What a plumb! 😂

Far fewer were bothering with the clapping at 8 last night on my street. The enthusiasm for it has reduced over the last couple of weeks. Stood on my front drive along with neighbours this morning to honor VE day silence at 11. Road was very busy with traffic. Perplexed look on most of the drivers faces as to what we were doing  😔

Was talking to one of my customers yesterday. She is a nurse at st James ( jimmys ) in Leeds . Worked there over 20 years . She had never seen it so quiet . First 2 weeks was busy , but they Coped quite well . Now she is on annual leave . Says there is nurses walking about with not much to do .

In the circumstances I’m sure the customers would understand, Daz had to get back home early to set up his drum kit😉

Our VE Day street party was just on BBC news (North West), will be on this evening too. All very socially distanced or course.

What a shame. Our road has been on the street every Thursday without fail. It’s still gathering momentum too, and rightly so.
