I don't think there would be a problem with this. Business employing staff have too much power.
The issue is going to be for self employed windies. Don't contact us, we will contact you to see if you qualify - in June.  ???

I got mine on Saturday Morning. Four whole days before I would have had to shut up shop.

Good to hear but they should pay up. They closed the country.
We just have to pay it back now.

It'll be paid back one way or another; like an increase in tax or NI.

And nor should there be. If it wasn't paid back we'd pay in other ways.

I think mr Griff means that in future budgets etc..  the tax rate will go up, ni goes up vat will go up etc...

Companies themselves won't have a balance "to pay off"

Ergo...

Get what you can, while you can

I do and Sunak even touched on it the night of his announcement.
I think some of this could have been avoided though. Still, it could be worse; there'll be some paying it back that are entitled to nothing.

Darran

Was a Ltd company director, dissolved company in 2018 and been self employed since. My 2019 tax return was 70% dividends and 30% self employed profits, making me ineligible for the self employed scheme and the furlough scheme.

Dazmond is donating his to Charity. No reason why he wouldn’t be eligible, unless his profits are over the £50k limit.

He's not claiming it, the last I heard.
