Is it just me or do others get customers that say..”it’s going to rain tomorrow can you come back and do it another day” absolutely drives me mad!! How can people be so stupid! What if I clean it on a bone dry day then it rains the next day..it’s just ridiculous!!

She may just be thinking she is doing you a favour not asking you to work in the rain, and thats she is happy to wait.

Just educate them.

What difference does it make if a customer doesn't want to waste their money because its gonna rain just charge extra next clean and when they ask why tell them they are alot muckier than their neighbours because they stopped you last clean they will soon get the message

It’s up to the customer who they choose to have clean there windows   We always explain we work in all weather if they hesitate I suggest they find someone else , if they say they dont want them doing as it’s raining, looks like it’s going to rain I remind them of the original verbal contract we work in all weathers , if they still don’t want them doing they are dumped , I have had a few like this over the years then they have the check to phone  and ask when we are coming I take great delight in telling them we won’t be returning and explain why , we never take a customer back that has been dumped there are plenty of good customers out there so why bother with these time wasters .

To them it may seem a waste of money,if someone was to say is it worth doing them today it’s drizzling or it’s going to rain, say ok but it won’t be for another 6 weeks they soon change there mind.

Yes you can. Set it out when you take them on. If they later play you up remind them what you agreed. If they still think they can dictate terms after that then part ways.
I can't believe the nonsense some window cleaners tolerate from uneducated or cantankerous customers.
It's a game of three halves!

I have several that don't like it done in the rain.  It can be annoying if it's only a very light rain but them having that attitude doesn't lead to me dropping them.   If the rain is heavy I can't always work anyway depending on the job as I'm a hybrid of WFP and traditional and sometimes certain windows can  be very difficult to clean in the traditional way in bad weather.  Leaded windows in particular spring to mind.

Alot of customers will agree to anything just to get on your books i have been in game 36 years and never dropped customers over petty little things like if you dont have them done in rain then throw teddy out of cot n drop them, most of my customers dont care about what weather s like but you always get the odd few that dont like it and most of them are the good customers so wouldn't drop them for that wow

I’ve never had anyone actually cancel as such, but occasionally it’s started raining while I’ve been doing them.

A few customers have chattingly said “well isn’t that typical of the British weather!” And I’ve agreed, but I’ve always thrown the comment in that it isn’t the rain that makes windows dirty, it’s the wind.

I think it makes them feel a bit better, like they’ve not wasted their money.
