There can’t be any excuse for not going back yet can there?

Yet another poll that doesn't give the options needed.

Where is "Stopped for a while and then went back sometime in the last few weeks."?
It's a game of three halves!

Very admirable!

Yes, friend of mine works in Co Meath. 5th week off this week. Essential workers only but a small few are flouting it. he's getting 350 a week paid into his bank to be off.

Everyone that has been adversely affected should claim it.
I can't understand why so many are now saying that they didn't stop.

I didnt stop but Ive lost work as a result of Covid.

Maybe theyre now saying they didnt stop because they prefered to keep their heads below the parapet at the time and not run the gauntlet of various characters slagging them off. It was quite vitriolic on here at one time or another.

Course and you still might do.
I wonder if people see it as losing face by admitting to stopping work. The poll results don't reflect the true feeling on here.
There's no right and wrong.

Window cleaners don't set the mood for a country though. Fortunately.
The government have to take a lot of responsibility for that. They dallied, then panicked and then the country panicked.
I'll bet any money that 77% of window cleaners on here, at least, didn't work in the days after Boris' speech.

I wonder if the 2 characters on here that do the most boasting will be secretly desperate for their 80%.

Assuming they pay tax of course.

Which I doubt.

Off course they did, I can only think of a few on here that said they weren't working, maybe 10 or so, because of the slagging it just seemed that there were more.

No, you're wrong.
A lot more than a few, or maybe 10, didn't work in the days after Boris' speech. A lot more.

That's not the reason for you claiming it though.
I reckon you will be asked if your business was adversely affected by coronavirus. You won't be asked do you want to claim it because your NI contributions are set to increase anyway.
I'm just preparing you so that you don't anything questionable when they contact you.

Anyway, what happened to you saying that we wouldn't get it because 'we' could continue working?

We are talking about guys on here Griff, not nationwide, I cant remember more than 10 or so stating that they had stopped working but if you think there are a lot more then it shouldn't be hard for you to prove, as per usual I wont hold my breath waiting. (roll eyes)

You're getting worse, I haven't lost enough work or money for me to genuinely need this handout so will claim it for the reason I stated, if it is now going to be means tested (make up your mind) then I wont get it and wont care, this also answers your last stupid question.

I didn't work the first week of lock down being announced and have worked on and off since when the mood has taken me. I'm covering my bills, that's all I'm really concerned about. One thing I've noticed is with so much business closed and all but essential shopping, I need far less money than I thought I did. Certainly feels weird working when every shop that's open I drive by has a line outside of people social distancing in face masks. I'm having this week off, weather gonna be poop anyway. When I do work I make each day count with well paying full days. Just count myself lucky I'm self employed in a job that I'm still able to do if I wish, so many are not.
