I would think about it for a while longer if it was me,it’s not as easy these days to build what you’ve got now again.
Even if you rented the round out franchised it anything at least if the circumstances change you can go right back to it,a month or 2 is not long enough to think about it we didn’t think we’d be told we couldn’t go out 6 weeks ago lol that’s how quickly life can change.

My wifes illness sadly isnt one that will get better. Thankfully its not terminal however.
I certainly appreciate everyones comments as your absolutely right, it breaks my heart to pack up but my wife n kids are priority for me right now.

Im thankful to know some big players in my areas who I can grab some days out working with if finances need or just for a bit of escape time.  Im also keeping hold of a spare pump box, pole and DA applicator so I can always book in some soft wash jobs etc. 
However if things drastically change in the future, I will have to cross that bridge when it comes.

Sorry to hear this Nathan , don’t be to hasty why not try doing less work ,sell the worst paying jobs and keep the cream and at least it would give you some regular money coming in , obviously you know your situation best but don’t  do something you might later regret , hope things improve for you and the family .

I’d look at selling some of the work and keep the cream Nathan. There’s plenty of guys in this current climate that’d like to ensure they have a more secure future with more work that you can offload in their direction.

They’ll all have a generous back hander from Mr Sunak in a few weeks that could pay for that.

That’s a good point. Right now is probably the worst time to be selling an established round. If you could keep the round intact until later in the summer you’d likely get a far better price for it.

All the best for whatever you decide, and I hope you still come on this forum no matter what. You’ve  been a good laugh and have a great attitude and the way your prioritising you’re family at this time is the right and noble thing to do.

I know you haven’t asked for  advice on this matter so please don’t take this wrong way, (also just disregard this advice if you feel it’s of no value).

You’ve got to also consider your own mental health in this case too.

I appreciate being a carer etc will get you benefits, but you can also work a little and still get the carers benefits, it’s just capped at a certain point I think.

Whatever your cream work is, your best hourly rate stuff, sell that last. It might do you the world of good to be able to get out for a couple of mornings a week and work.

Whatever you do, DONT stop working completely until this government grant stuff is all sorted. You could get yourself a nice little nest egg come
June, but if you sell up now and cease completely trading you might not be entitled to anything other than carers benefit. As has been mentioned too, other guys might get a nice chunk of cash and be happy to splash out on some window cleaning work off you, whereas right now, people seem to be holding onto their pennies.

My advice would be to plod on for another 6 weeks or so until we know for definite what this grant stuff is going to look like.

Again though, just ignore that advice if it’s no use mate. Just want to do what I can to help. I know sometimes when your dealing with a stressful situation the blinkers can come on and it’s hard to see the big picture.

Sorry to hear about your situation Nathan i really am.  For different reasons i had to make some tough decisions health related a few years back.  I decided the best option was to employ and get my worker to do almost all of the work by himself.  That decision has paid off and i am still earning enough to live on whilst having the option to stay at home full time if needed.  In the last 12 months situation has changed again and ive gone back to working part time again, but its a constant battle and i may have to give it up again.  Knowing that i can employ to atleast keep some money in is definitely worth it in my eyes.

Seriously think about employing someone if you can.  Pay them GOOD MONEY.  Treat them really well, and you will be suprised how much you can earn just staying at home whilst an employee goes oout for you.

I wish you all the best mate i really do, hope things settle down  for you though.
