As per title.

Anyone know what's happening?

Have you changed  any membranes or filters before the resin? If so is the resin unchanged from previously even though you have changed the above?
It's a game of three halves!

Can only be some sort of contamination in the resin i would think. Logically (i think) even spent resin could not add anything to the water, it would just become neutral?

No that's incorrect. Used up resin adds tds to the water.

I would disagree, never in 15 years has the output value exceeded the input on any of my DI vessels.

"Used up resin adds tds to the water."
Corrictimundo.
Seen it loads of times.
Once the resin is spent it leaches back all the ions it has taken out of the water, the ions in the input water have a stronger charge than the ions now trapped in the resin, the resin can no longer hold them and the charge pulls them back out.
My water is about 100 out of the tap but I have seen it come out at 270 from the DI vessel when the resin is spent, and it happens quick often in a day or two.

Just had this over weekend.

Ro into first DI is 4ppm then it comes out at 7ppm. Resin is shot to bits lol!

I would imagine the heat may have something to do with it.....

Yeah I've had old resin add to the TDS if it's really worn out.

This is the reason. The resin is spent and currently your RO is out performing your DI resin

I suppose that could be it but wouldn't that rely on the RO having output at 007 or above for a while in the past to get the resin loaded enough to be leaching it back out at 007?   007 is a hell of a jump from 003.

Not seen it before (and between me and the franchisees we've had RO/DI systems running for a total of about 38 years of use).

I’ve had resin kick out higher than my RO a few times, it’s always been when it’s spent resin.

Just bare in mind that when you first switch on your RO, your output TDS is much higher for a minute or two whilst it all settles down.
I usually disconnect my DI until it drops back down but if you leave it connected, it’ll go through your resin that much quicker.
Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?

Ahhhh. I reckon that could well be it. Thank you!

It sounds to me as if the resin in your DI needs changing - check that the in and out are on the right way when you do it.
Also (as someone said) the RO will often throw out high TDS when it starts up and this will cause the DI to foul the resin quicker.
I always run the output from the DI to the draing for a couple of minuites first and then put it into the tank. The water from the tank is then pumped through the DI and to the pole when you start cleaning (the water in my tank is from the RO only).

Why would you need two DI's if you have an RO?

So what happens when people double di?

i chuck the old resin away when it reaches my tap TDS(which is currently 021) and go back to one vessel until it starts to creep up(i check every day after filling up)......

at the moment my TDS out of my first vessel is 011,then goes through the second vessel making it 000.......
price higher/work harder!

I have double di even with ro. When tds creeps up i put the 2d one where the 1st was & ditch the 1st one. Smaller vessels, easier to empty also I found.

I thought it would totally exhaust the 1st di to get every last bit of life out of it no?

Am i better going back to one vessel you think?

I do exactly the same, seems to work for me
