Can only be some sort of contamination in the resin i would think. Logically (i think) even spent resin could not add anything to the water, it would just become neutral?

"Used up resin adds tds to the water." Corrictimundo.Seen it loads of times.Once the resin is spent it leaches back all the ions it has taken out of the water, the ions in the input water have a stronger charge than the ions now trapped in the resin, the resin can no longer hold them and the charge pulls them back out.My water is about 100 out of the tap but I have seen it come out at 270 from the DI vessel when the resin is spent, and it happens quick often in a day or two.

The resin is spent and currently your RO is out performing your DI resin
Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?
Just bare in mind that when you first switch on your RO, your output TDS is much higher for a minute or two whilst it all settles down.
So what happens when people double di?
I have double di even with ro. When tds creeps up i put the 2d one where the 1st was & ditch the 1st one. Smaller vessels, easier to empty also I found.I thought it would totally exhaust the 1st di to get every last bit of life out of it no?Am i better going back to one vessel you think?
