I think most of my commercial work will be fine. I do quite a bit that’s connected to the Nuclear industry and utility company offices etc, that work will carry on as soon as lockdown is lifted I think. Management company work should also be fine, it is so far anyway.

I also do quite a chunk of showhomes for house builders. What happens to this work is anyone’s guess, especially longer term. This will take some replacing tbh.

Also I usually average £160-£200 per week in one off f/s/g cleans and a lot more than that in April/May. This work has all but dried up and who know what will happen to this work if the economy is in the gutter.

Interesting. They seem to have removed the criteria that to be eligible you must have atleast 50% of your income from self employment (rather than dividends)  for the 2019 tax year.

Also, the following line is left completely open to their own interpretation. Expect to hear a lot more on this in the coming weeks lads.

Exactly what I thought. It means absolutely nothing at this point until they set the parameters.

For those thinking that they will be able to carry on working, get the 80% grant and effectively be better off due to the virus I’d lower your expectations. I just can’t see it and I’ve said that from the start.

Maybe if you could have worked but have not they will not pay out.

Looks like the guys who have worked but lost work will end up being paid  pro rata when proving there loses..🤔.

You will probably have to send the months out of work bank statements to prove that your not working and last years to prove you have lost income only guessing like

apart from the odd skipped job and one suspended job ive not been affected much yet...also i put over half my prices up last month so that extra money still outweighs the missed jobs...ive also not stopped working since the lockdown but im mostly domestic......

Youre either self-employed or you’re not. Some of you guys panic too much. Rishi stood up and said for the whole world to see, if you’re self employed you’ll get a grant based on 80% of your average trading profits. End of story.

They wont cop out now, they cant cop out now. We’re facing the worst recession in a century with absolutely no guarantees and you think the govt is going to abandon 20% of the working population.

I could not agree more   I do carpet cleaning jetwashing commercial window cleaning all stopped overnight
  but my residential window cleaning round has kept me going and my sanity iam lucky I didnt sell it or give it up because of this I will expand the residential bit what a terribly test this has been 😳

It doesn't say 'all' profit. Your profits will be well down so you should be ok.
It does 'adversely affected' too, so all those picking up new work from all those walk ups might be sweating .
