We’re in this together
« on: April 03, 2020, 12:00:21 pm »
I’ve had a lot of time to think over the last few days and I’ve come to the conclusion there is no right or wrong.

Let’s be honest it all comes down to an opinion that even the top brains in the world are struggling with.

Nobody actually knows 100% what is the right approach to tackling this virus and big mistakes will be made along the way.

I have customers who want me to carry on and others that don’t so even they are split.

I think we all get caught up in our own opinions at times but none of us know best ,how could we when even the experts have different opinions.

Can I just say if I have caused offence to anybody out working I’m truly sorry but it has been a very confusing time for everybody.

I just hope that lessons are learnt and if we ever face something like this again we will all be better prepared and know the correct path to walk.

Also everyone has varying levels of confidence and anxiety so where it is easy for some to make a decision it is less so for others.

Ultimate to everybody on here wether at work or at home STAY SAFE

DONT fall out it’s just opinions

I still say that you are at more risk getting food I don’t mean to harp on about it but compared to where I’m working I am certainly closer to getting the Virus in a supermarket, like you say it’s down to anxiety and thinking how you’ll look out working.
I am working  at the moment because I can in a week or 2 if they say now the time has come when everyone needs to stay indoors at least I’ve done something, each business is different or each persons work I mean my customers are happy to let me carry on other WCs might not be I suppose you have to satisfy you’re own anxiety before you stop no one should judge really.

I agree with you, Timmsy.
We should all try and do our bit.
I'm trying to help in an advisory role but it's difficult to get through to some. They're driving me to drink (despite my warnings that it was a non-essential journey).
I won't give up on them though.

That's all well and good as most of us agree it's up to everyone what they do. Work or not, could not give two monkeys.

It's the bleeting from those who seem to be bothered by the ones following the rules and working that getting a bit boring now.   Why are they bothered so much?

Why are they bothered so much?

To be fair to the moonhowlers most of the hysterical rantings come in the late evening, once the cider has kicked in and they're smashed out of their tiny minds.

But reading the most recent posts they all seem fairly sensible and well-balanced.

However it's Friday today (I think ;D) and you just know there's going to be some moonhowling tonight. ;D

Who's bleating about anyone following the rules?
Give me some examples and I'll have a rant at them when I'm finishing my mulled wine tonight.

So a post aimed at unity and togetherness with a "don't fall out" message rapidly descends into the same as every other virus post. There's not a lot of hope for ciu at the moment, very sad we as an industry can't just have  a bit of mutual respect for each other whilst the rest of the UK pulls together. It's getting embarrassing.

OK but please please can we change the drunken  debate subject.

Maybe Brexit, or does hot water clean better?  Or trad vs wfp?  Or how about DIY systems vs professional fitted?  ;D ;D

It's not descended into anything negative, nick.

I pulled some moonhowler legs, and people from both sides of the argument joined in with the banter.

Exactly this.

Can we not just have 1 single thread on the subject of to work or not to work and all the usual suspects can air their opinions there.

The forum is becoming unusable (much like Facebook) for the rest of us who don’t want to keep banging on about why our opinion is more relevant than others.
