16 patients on the renal ward where my partner works... 11 have tested positive.
the proper PPE only arrived on Thursday.
she is back in work on sunday evening, I expect that some may have died by then.

it is very scary, and I thing a lot of people will have mental health problems for years to come.

A friend of mine has it.

I've been calling him every couple of days the last week. Calls are going unanswered today.

I have had a dry scratchy throat for a few days.... although its a bit better today.  if I had  a temperature as well, she wouldn't be able to work for 2 weeks. lots of nurses and doctors are having to isolate.

I know of two that I have socialised with. Not friends as such but friends of a friend in both cases.

The first fellow - poor sod. Died today in Southmead hospital Bristol.
Aged about 75 but diabetic, heart problems, very overweight. Was told he "didn't suffer" in the last four days as he was on a ventilator and was sedated.

Second I knew less well, similar age and issues but not overweight - went into Southmead hospital last Tuesday - don't know whether he was on a ventilator or not but he was discharged into his adult son's care (who also had/has it mildly) and is "recovering at home."
It's a game of three halves!

Not meaning to sound callous, but probably will, flu was known as 'the old man's friend':

The great Canadian physician, Sir William Osler, considered by some as the Father of modern medicine, first called pneumonia "the old man's friend" (indeed it was eventually the cause of his own death). In his great textbook, he wrote: "Pneumonia may well be called the friend of the aged. Taken off by it in an acute, not often painful illness, the old man escapes those 'cold gradations of decay' so distressing to himself and his friends."

The worst part is that they were self isolating, someone in the family kept on going in & out their house with food etc for them like it didn’t matter

Some just don't realise.
I've not seen my Dad for a couple of weeks. I'm going to leave it another week and even then I'll stay in the garden and him in the kitchen. Luckily, my sister is very switched on and cooking and shopping for him and leaving it at the door.
Your Grandad is younger than my Dad, too.
It's dreadful, mate.

Scary times , stay safe guys. We might be able to handle the virus and not even know we’ve passed it on to someone until it’s too late!

I'm also sorry to hear of your lost Shrek.

Daughter works for McMillan Nurses at the hospital and she has the symptoms. Has been very ill for the past 10 days but not hospitalised. Interestingly son in law is self isolating and is fine so far.

My wife's sister's husband works in a carehome and he has all the symptoms. He allegedly caught it from another carer and one of the residents caught it who has subsequently passed away. His wife (sister in law) also works for a different carehome and she has to remain at home.

But until they start testing for antibodies people are not working who could because they are in isolation.
