250,000 NHS volunteers needed...will you
« on: March 24, 2020, 07:48:54 pm »
So the country needs volunteers to help NHS staff anyone here going to sign up? I've looked into it a bit but as my wife is a key worker and has to go to her work I'm not sure i can as i have the kids to look after, going to ask their school tomorrow to see if they would take them.
How about you!  or is window cleaning more important  ;D

They値l need more than that purely with the amount  of selfish, brain dead morons still working from this forum alone.

School will take your kids if one parent is a key worker.
You've got to consider school holidays, as well. I have thought about doing something temporarily but the holidays would still be a problem.

No it's too dangerous on the front line.

Big respect to those that do it, but they chose that profession I chose to be a shiner.

Although that was what was originally  said, you'll find that they probably wont accept it if one of you is not unless the child has registered specialist needs (my brother tried today). Its not front line work its things like go shopping for the nurses/Doctors etc so they dont have too and other small things like that.

It must depend on the school and the demand. My lad's school's policy is one key worker.
But if you volunteer, you'll class as a key worker.

No need for name calling and certainly to post it twice  ;D ;D

Please explain how our work is risking peoples lifes if precautions are taken and the government allows it, along with take away places / shops/super markets which are restricting access to 30 people at a time (around here any way) and other such like businesses??

Apparently by eventually getting back toworking (for me) will not only help my family financially but also help with the economy for when we survive this madness / turbulent time  ;D ;D

However, they hold our upmost respect and praise. I know before all of this, at one stage a while ago I was tired of hearing about doctors striking here, there and everywhere!  Then I had an opp which required 3 weeks in sheffield hospital and saw for myself back then, how rushed off their feet they are, esp the nurses!  Since then I have nothing but respect for them.

If I didnt have my family situation of health (my wifes) with looking after the kids etc then I would do, especially if they provide masks etc.

as my wife is a key worker

I'd love to take time off and rely on a woman keeping me in housing and food, but unfortunately I have to work.

Another kept man whose missis is a key worker.

There's a pattern happening here. ;D

You値l find out in about 3 days when you can稚 even leave the house. Probably because of non key workers like you desperately chasing a few pennies.

For the sake of a few weeks maximum being told, no asked nicely to stay in, you will probably be forced to stay in for far, far longer.

Bollox.  It was the crowds out in the parks and beaches that did all that; nothing to do with window cleaners.

As the Jock first minister said, window cleaners and gardeners work alone and can adhere to all the rules.

The problem with that thinking is thinking that it wasnt inevitably going to be the case anyway!!

So please tell me as im still confused. When you do your shopping is it online and does the delivery person drop them at the door and move away etc.  You see, i know that people will have come into contact and seen more people than i would i  perhaps two days of work.  Hence my confusion at your outright anger and name calling.

It could be a lot of people in trouble then (my missis believes she's had it too, but she's Welsh and daft):

I don't believe it, but my missis had the dry cough and a bad cold.  It lasted about a week too, though lingered for longer.

This was in early/mid February; had she got those symptoms now, she'd be in isolation.

So you thought you壇 help by going out today as usual and exacerbating the governments nerves.

Well done.

Enjoy your 3 month incarceration  ;D
