I have only been in business for 2 tax years so do not have a full round in this already competitive area.
Yesterday I was informed that I have lost all my Thursday weekly commercial work as the camp site has been closed down, that is about 30% of my very modest income, also I declined some inside residential work yesterday for my customers safety and kept at least 10 feet from everyone.
I am not due back to my 4 weekly customers until Monday but I suspect we may be instructed not to go back to work for many weeks, just my guess.
A couple of customers mentioned to me that there maybe some provision for the self employed to claim 80% of lost earnings.
I know it is early, but who would that need to be claimed off?
I get the feeling the process is going to be long winded and complicated and so much information will be needed.
I am in my early 50's and only started contributing to a SIPP last year, £100 a month (better late than never), if the help is means tested then the over 55's may be told to use that before claiming.
