I have it.
Anyone else paying for cover? Wonder if they will pay out?

I heard if it’s going to cover pandemic you have to name the pandemic.

I doubt it - there is always a ‘clause’ not to pay

The best policies {normally most expensive} will pay out. The cheapsters will wriggle out of it like they do with everything else.

If you’ve declared a decent taxable income for the last financial year you might get something, if you’ve bought any expensive equipment, van etc to keep your taxable income down to a minimum, forget it!

Lost me there  🤔
I pay Ł175 a month into a sickness scheme to protect my income should I become ill and unable to work.
Time to dig out the policy and see if I have to catch the virus. Doubt there’s any mention of paying during a ‘lockdown’ as we’ve never had one before.

If you’re paying that much per month it should really have everything covered then and you should be fine. A lot of these policies are sold by agents who have no interest what so ever if the policy holder will be paid out or not, all they are interested in is selling the policy and getting the commission. Generally these policies will pay out a maximum of between 65 and 75% of your taxable income.....not your turnover. I tried to make a claim on one of those policies when I broke a bone in my ankle after falling from a ladder. It was my second year trading and as I didn’t have a great taxable income the previous year I got zilch. The same will happen when you reduce your taxable income by re investing in your business, you will be paid next to nothing.

Emailed them this morning first thing, unsurprisingly they haven’t responded. I think they will be busy!
