Just been sent this pic, new windows fitted a few weeks ago.

She's been on holiday, come back seen these scratches are assumed it was me.

I'm convinced that it's impossible to have done this with a brush.

Whats more likely is my cleaning has revealed the scratches

I'm of the mind to tell her that it was nothing to do with me and just lose the customer. Only problem is I clean 3 in a row and they are all family so will probably lose them all.

Cheaper than forking out for this I reckon

I know if I say it wasnt me she's not going to have that for an answer so what's the best way to deal with it?

I would just explain the reasons why you strongly doubt it was you, and that it’s extremely unlikely/never happened before.

Just be polite, hopefully she will concede that it wasn’t you and move on...

A local windie to me had a similar experience, he posted it on here. The picture he showed me pointed to dog claws as it was only bottom part of door. He said he tried to scratch hos own windows by rubbing the brush hard on the brickwork then cleaning his own windows, he said it couldn't be done to scratch the glass
Those marks are not significant with wfp work, far too much and too deep. The odd pne or two would ne a possibility but not that, unless you taped a bit of sandpaper to your brush.

Give the customer one of your brushes, ask them to use the brush on the damaged window and see if they can replicate the scratches.

Thanks, that does look the most logical explanation looking at the marks, someone really gone over that area multiple times to put all those marks in just like scraping a sticker off would do.

I'm convinced I couldn't scratch a window like that if I tried with a brush full of gravel.

Whether she accepts it or not is another thing. I guess from her point of view if she's not seen the marks before and the window cleaner has just been it must be me.

Ill just explain and demonstrate why it cannot have possibly been my brush then she can do as she pleases I guess.

Politely try using logic, if that window has been scratched by your equipment, therefore every one of her other windows and neighbours windows will be the same. Hope they are not!!

I see where you're coming from, but if you got grit or something in the brush then it could do a one off  window scratch, I don't believe that's what's happened though.

They look very much like the marks a builder might make removing a sticker with a dry scraper, seen it a dozen times

Hard to say from here, but they look circular to me - as if someone has buffed the glass with a sponge or similar after scraping the stickers off. Doesn't look like a wfp brush scratch at all
