first temporary cancellation due to CV
« on: March 18, 2020, 03:04:23 pm »
I had a text from a customer today asking me to put them on hold until the coronavirus is over  due to the fact that he and his partner think their jobs will be put on hold for a while

on a lighter note a customer I was cleaning this morning opened her window and called out to me not to come any where near her as she and her husband were self isolating due to the fact that they in a friends house recently and another friend of theirs had been diagnosed with the virus

I would normally a  tea break at this house, but not today

anyway she said carry on as normal and we will pay you online

Why not today unless you are doing insides makes no difference in my eyes and the customers I’ve cleaned this morning, maybe it’s a good excuse not to have to pay the window cleaner at the moment.
I park up and clean,I’m not within 20 yards on em.

Had my first cancelation today due to the fact they’re fearing for their jobs. Fair enough. Gonna have to be a bit flexible i think if it really starts hitting the fan.

I’ve not lost any. Actually, some customers are experiencing a boom.

I do quite a few holiday cottages, and they are booked out to capacity. This is because nobody can fly abroad, therefore any holiday has to be UK. People are fleeing the cities, but don’t want to stay in hotels, so staying in a cottage is a no-brainier.

Add to that people who only need the internet to keep working, and kids being off school, it’s no wonder people are booking up holiday cottages in the countryside.

On the domestic side, the interest rate cut is definitely having an effect. Customers have around £40-£100 a month more than they did before.

For those that need to cut, I think people will start with the big stuff,(put off buying a new car etc). I think most people think that saving £15 a month (or £15 every other month) will make so little difference it’s not worth it.

Interesting. That might hold some water.

I'm about the same. One employee down (although I suspect he fancied a fortnite off to play fornight) and about 20 cancellations. I've tried to get most of them to postpone until June, see what the world looks like then.

I’m not so sure people will have £40-£100 a month more due to the interest rate cut. Nearly all will have a fixed rate mortgage so will still be paying the same amount despite the cut.
