It’s ok them lending money out it’s like having a huge limit on a credit card even if it’s interest free all these things still have to be paid back,I’d rather wait it out and see what’s happening first before running up any debt.

Not a cash grant, grants are a gift.

But, even if it was a loan, it may be some self employed people’s only option, doubt we’d need it in this ‘trade’ though.

Bother in law is being made redundant as of Friday next week. Sad times for so many.

sounds too good to be true...........and it is.....no way will the government give us all £10k!...its never gonna happen in a million years.....

I'll be honest looking into it; it does read that small companies even those paying no business rates would be eligible for £10k. For 700,000 small businesses that's £700 million - a drop in the ocean compared to the proposed £330bn. It may be the only way some of us can survive these uncertain times....

I can’t see them doing it for me the sole trader , I will just get told to sit it out , take the £72 a week and get back to knocking them doors once it’s all blown over

When it was introduced during the budget he said it was every business.

My local MP replied to me on fb and said the self employed will be entitled to £73 per week, apply and paid for by DWP. Good luck with the application process to DWP.

I wish I hadn’t bothered filing and paying my self assessment in January now.

Is that only if country goes into lockdown or can I claim if customers are all cancelling? my round is small and still building so I could find myself earning barely anything if the majority start cancelling.
If it came to it where I’m barely doing any houses I’d rather stop for a few months until things calm down and claim the £73 a week, it’s not a lot but it’s better than nothing.
