Anyone used the extreme 47s , whars the rigidity of these poles fully extended? Cheers

I’ve a MK2 xtreme 47 and a MK3 25.

Love the 47, though it is a bit bendy at full height. Perfectly useable though.

I now use the MK3 25 and then add the extra MK2 sections up the 47’. It’s much stiffer that way.

The MK3 is a very good pole, very rigid. I just  don’t like the way it wears so much faster than the MK2.

I never had a spinning section on MK2’s. The metal bands never ever wore down, so you never had to adjust the clamps, ever.

Wish Alex would go back the MK2 design but with MK3 rigidness.

You’ll be fine with a MK3 47’. It’ll be pretty easy to work with I’m sure.

Extreme 47 not too bad in light winds but stronger winds prefer to use a supermax pole, heavier but more rigid in side winds

only trouble with the supermax or ultimate is size. we recently changed the size of our vans and only run dispatches now so no room for these poles

I have a mix and match mk 1/mk 3 extreme 47. Basically I snapped a top section after about six years use and about six months later replaced my everyday extreme and put the top three sections of my old one into the mk1 47.

But I rarely use it at full stretch. Dan the man borrows it for a block of flats too.

I often use it at 25/40ft and with a small brush and it is probably under used and so section 4 through to 47 are the original mk1.

I only use xtreme brushes which helps with the bend.

I've still got an original xtreme 47 with the old style clamps that I bought in a sale for £850 many years ago ....

I only use it around 10 times a month and its still in good nick......the top 2 sections are a bit worn now but still useable....I'll probably swap them out for 2 sections from my 'pole graveyard' eventually......

I used to have a supermax 40 and it was virtually impossible to clean solar panels/velux on 2 storey roofs because of the bend in the pole at an angle so I sold it to a member on this forum.it was ok on straight up windows but the xtreme is far,far better(less bend and lighter)......

Its important to use a carbon gooseneck and xtreme brush at these heights IMO to maximize the ease of use,rigidity,etc.....

Have you used a MK3 though splash? Cos it’s remarkably rigid compared to MK2 extremes.

For once a month jobs an extreme is great, probably not for daily work or a couple of times a week.

I use my 47 with a modular extension once a month for a block of apartments. Not much fun at all in the wind, but on the whole a great pole for the job...

Yes I have had them all , found it way to whipy we do  a lot of high hotels 4-8 storey , got the ultimate and that’s so much better more controllable and better with a breeze than the extream  they all bowed into the building , it is heavier and costs more but we couldn’t do the jobs successfully with the extream no accuracy with it at all.

Yes if you do a lot of high work then even an extreme 47 at full stretch isn't the lightest most rigid pole.

Is the ultimate not really heavy though?

I’ve been tempted by one, but put off by the weight.

Twice a year I clean a 6 story block of apartments with my xtreme 47 plus 2 modular sections. It is hard work. The pole is bent into the building majorly, moving it from window to window is hard graft.  Wonder if the ultimate would be better...

Would also use the ultimate for the monthly 5 story job I do.

It is heavier than an extreme and thicker diameter but much more manageable to use , after a mornings work I have had enough of using it to be honest but it’s the only pole I like above 45 feet , so much more control with it on the glass I use it with a carbon 10 inch goose neck and supream brush as we need scrubbing power due to salt and seagull poo , the extreme isn’t accurate enough at height
